View Full Version : I had completely forgotten how boring baseball is...
...until yesterday.
I got to go to the Braves vs. Diamonbacks game yesterday and it completely reminded me of how boring a sport can truly be. I mean seriously, it's so slow I had to constantly shake myself away to see if anything was happening. Also, I don't know of any other sport that has so many d@mn minigames, contests, and other crap going on during the game to try and keep people interested. The Home Depot "this", the Six Flags "that", the Delta "giveaway", and other pointless, half@ss crap to try and keep people from giving up and going home. It's rediculous. If the sport was really worth two farts, it wouldn't need all this filler to keep people interested.
Just thought I'd share.

amy san your just mad because there weren't little girls playing on the baseball field instead of grown men lol
that cause your asian, you didn't understand american sport. Go back to tetris!I understand American sports just fine. I've even played most of them. Hell, I've even played that Canadian sport called hockey! Baseball, however, is by far the slowest and most boring.
BTW, Tetris is the sh*t. :D

If you knew anything about baseball, you'd know that these "fillers" that you refer to aren't to keep fans from leaving. It's just to add to the excitement of the event. To a fan, it is excitement. There's nothing like going to the ballpark to watch a game. Later, QD.

If I'm going to a sportsfield to watch a game, then I'm going to watch a ballgame. Not to watch Lucile and her 6yr old son win a free pass to White Water. These little games and give-aways didn't add to the excitement, they merely made the wait time between innings even longer.

I love baseball, so I don't find the games boring. But to someone who is not a fan then I'm sure you would be bored at a baseball game. That goes for any sport though. I mean soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world, but I know for a fact I would fall asleep within the first 30min. of a game. Different strokes for different folks i guess...

I dont mind the game. I could sit and watch something. It's like T.V but without switching the channel. Plus my fav time of any sport is to get some greasy grubs.

this thread is blasphemous....baseball is ftw
and the pace of the game has picked up considerably over the past few years....i think there are actually rules now designed to speed the game up
