finished it last night at school @ about 11PM. Took three damn hours to render it. 10 seconds long, 30 frames per second = 300 frames.

hahahaha, what program? you got a shitty computer if that took 3 hours to render , im sorry :[
how long did it take you to model that?
where do you go to school?

I go to the art insitutute of atl. Yeah our comps at school are pretty mediocre, but they get the job done. The reason it took so long to render in Maya is b/c it was set on the highest production quality with full raytrace shadows, anti-aliasing, etc. Took me a few days of class to model it.
Render = model...
modeling is creating the object.
rendering is loading textures/lighting and shooting it w/a cam.

Gotcha, different terminology I guess. In my engineering graphics course render = model, lol.
Let me rephrase that, render = model on the computer after modeling on paper

not to knock on you... looks cool, and i for sure don't have the skill for that... but..

EXACTLY!
lol that's what i tried to tell the instructor, but he insisted that we all have exhaust pipes... not for the functionality of the bike, but for the experience of modeling yet another object.

As did I... so, once again, see above.
