That sounds like a pretty good deal. Have you done any research on it? www.avic411.com will be able to answer any questions you have about it. :goodjob:

thats what you think. I watch movies all the time sitting in traffic. Im sure they have a bypass on avic411.com. It usually has something to do with the ground cable connecting to the ebrake. The Z1 was thought to be "unbypassable".....is that even a word...prolly not... but it has been figured out and it works like a charm on mine.

Figuring it out on the z1 is a flash of the parking lights while its on its loading screen. or something like that, stupid easy bypass. The d2 has no dvd capability though. Only the Navigation DVDs... It requires some other dvd playing device to input to the D2.

no it is very easy to by pass the switch..when u get it look at the back of the player and u should see a sticker that is covering a spot and it should say void warranty on it u have to carefully remove that and sauder(sp) the to connectiong together it will void ur warranty but those pioneer are really good shit man just hit me up when u get it

the D2 simply put, will not play DVDs. Not while driving, not while parked, no matter how well you soder those two pieces under the warranty sticker. It is not capable of playing a movie DVD, only the provided nav discs will play.

im not sure how the slim ps2's are currently priced, but there are plenty of DVD or movie playing options. Do you have a video Ipod? Peripheral offers products to integrate your Ipod to the Avic piece, or any screen with inputs for that matter. Movies2Go has fairly inexpensive dvd players for automobiles, but how can you beat the ps2 since it provides other entertainment than just movie playing?
