auto\5sp swap or vicea versea

im looking at a 86 s10

i want to put my 400sb into it but one problem

my tranny is a 3sp auto
his is a 5 speed


is there any way around this without buying a new trtasnny? would ither bolt up?

or could i use an auto tranny in a truck designed for a 5 speed?

you can use an auto in a manual just get rid of the clutch
