Other than a few random portrait shots haven't played with the flash yet, basic lil 430EX. These were taken in near darkness bouncing the flash off objects and walls...
Yeah yeah, you expected to see someone in the pic...those don't get posted unless you paypal me $100 for each one :D

Nice pics btw! but u know u have some great ass pics! even if u trip while snapping them. :)Find one that's comfortable first, i have pretty big hands and prefer canon's feel over nikon...then it comes down to how much you want to spend on lenses. The kit lens does ok but the quality of the picture always depends on the quality of the glass. To a point bodies are disposable and lens last forever.

hmmm ok. I was looking on their site and had some good prices (for me) on Canons. It's the lenses i'm really worried about I guess. Cuz I'm going to be doing more close up pictures. Are lens interchangable with other makes?

Are lens interchangable with other makes?Tamron and Sigma both make lenses for Canon. You'll want a dedicated macro lenses or one with macro features on it for closeups.

First, great photos Jason! I like your style a lot. Id like to see what you can do with a nice arsenal of lenses.
Second...
Nikon's kit lenses rival Canon's kit lenses. <---Truth not bias.
Both Nikons and Canons are small in the hands of most. That's why battery grips are essential.
If you dont want to spend the money on nice quality lenses for your DSLR, you're better off with a high end point and shoot.
DSLR DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY EQUAL AMAZING PHOTOS.

The pictures look good. I have that same flash and I love it.

Shop around, and try to find the best deal. Just going to Wolf may not yield the best price. Check all the other stores, even Costco sells cameras. I have had good luck with keh.com. I went with Canon because a lot of my friends have Canon cameras so we can trade out lens. Other than that it was a toss-up between Canon and Nikon. They both make great cameras.

DSLR DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY EQUAL AMAZING PHOTOS.Thanks, me too! :ninja: Maybe one day! I'm thinking about picking up the Sigma 30mm f/1.4. I'd rather get a Canon lense but the closest one they make to it is a 35mm f/1.4 for nearly 3x the price ($1,100) :(
I still need a wide angle short zoom lens too...it's never ending!
