I'm curious what type of workers you all are :)

On your last job, whenever you left, did you:

1) Leave without giving notice.

2) Give a 1 week or less notice.

3) Give a 2 week notice.

4) Tell them to STFU and leave as soon as you found something else?

5) You don't work.

6) You were fired.

I gave the fuckers a 2 week notice but they had shitty employees so I stayed for 2 more days.

This needs to be a poll. I always do my best to give the traditional 2 weeks notice, although it's usually a bit shorter than that. As long as the employer tells me that they're well covered and can handle it, it's no problem.

In terms about your sig, I like how when it was Mark the mods took all that action to keep things on the downlow. When it was Maniac in Leadfoot's sig, all they did was compliment it. Funny how that works I guess. Oh well.

I left without warning because they pissed me off. They didn't give me the promised raise, didn't offer me the promised benefits, AND tried to bill ME for part of a Worker's Comp dr. bill.

I worked at CVS, I was a "Photolab Technician", I liked doing the photo's but they made me do other bull shit like carry shit upstairs, trash, run cash register, face the store, vacuum, ect.

EDIT: I am jobless. Fucking gay, but better than CVS.

I gave my 30 days notice, they pissed me off one day, and then I walked out. Sent an email to my boss and told her I wasnt returning. I had a new job lined up already.

People say I shouldnt burn bridges, but those dumb fucks at Bellsouth never did anything for me anyways!

I think i have some bullshit happen to me, we were rearranging the office when everybody put their belongings and personal items in/on their new desk. Now imagine you new supervisor(who doesn't know her elbow from her asshole) tells you that that was her desk that you moved into and you gotta move. I just told "her move it yourself im done here bitch" those were my last words before i walked out

Sometimes when you give the two week notice, the job tries to make those last two weeks hell by putting you on some bullshit project or assignment

my last job was applebees and the manager made me really really mad because I called out cuz I was sick and he said you have to bring a doctors note..well i didnt have the money to go to the doctors and didnt have insurance..I said ok I will..the next day I didnt call or show up for work, and they called and called and called..well two days later I called back and said obviously I quit..then the manager rambled on about how I'm not doing the right thing and I shouldn't just quit without having something else lined up especially since I have a son..I said dont worry I have something else and hung up..

None of the above. I worked in public accounting and one of my clients wanted to hire me out as their on-site accountant. I told one of the partners at the firm about it as soon as they made the offer, we both knew it would happen eventually. I stayed while they looked for my replacement, plus, I had to do everything that has to be done to move 600 miles so it was about 5 or 6 weeks between notice and my last day.

Job before that, I gave about 6 weeks notice as well because we had to hire and train someone.

I've always done my best to give a full two weeks. You never know when you'll need than reference, even if you hated the job.

I used to work Roadside assistance for a company called auto rescue.

Those fools were fucking crazy! Expected me to be on call 7 days a week for a measly $400-$450 a week check plus I paid for my own gas, and killed my car in the process.

so it was more like a 300 dollars a week.

god I hated that job!

i worked at a vet for 3 years as my last job and was sick of all the BS, but i didn't have a backup job -- so i asked my dad to help me out with bills for a few months and bounced the hell outta there lol. Gave them less than a week's notice right before the busiest damn time of the year. long story short: i fucked them. (just returning the favor)

err...that's how I would've done it, anyways. If you're goin out, do it with a bang.Funny thing about the mic situation is we had a worker named LUKE. Well one day, we had a big meeting in the back room and there was like 4-5 out there in the front and Luke was one of them. I'm cracking up as I type this, lolol. Anyways, he walks by the video section and someone gets on the mic and says "LUKEE IAM YOUR FATHERRRR", impersonating Darth Vader, lololol. CLASSSIC !

Damn, you were nice!

My last job, contracting from several power companies........after being with the company I worked for (for about 4 years), I was promised a $3 hourly raise, and a $5000 bonus upon completion of the last project. So after the project was completed, I got a $1 hourly raise and a $500 bonus. (Greedy mofos!)

Well, lets just say, I still got my "bonus"........I paid off one of the supervisors, and turned in about 4 weeks worth of work (not only did I do this, but the work/info I turned in was fabricated! There was a 5% chance it was correct, so it all had to be redone), this being after I quit without anyone but the supervisor knowing. In those 4 weeks, I was on vacation (FL, CA, NY).

A few weeks later I got a call from our boss, bitching, complaining, etc.........."How can you do this? You were one of our best guys, if not THE best!"
ME: You know we talked about the bonus check I received, you said there was no mistake on the amount; it was only 10% of what you promised, so I made sure you "kept your word". Is there anything wrong with that?
He was pissed!!!

Purchased "Smoke Away" a quit smoking thing for like $60. Then I quit smoking while not showing up for work then next two days. Then came in and refunded myself the $60 bucks, since it was "money back guarantee to work" I just said it didnt work while in actuality it did. Boss was hella pissed of at me, and said for me to take a 1 week vacation to think about what I have done. I never came back nor called.

The last time I got fired was when I was in jail for a couple of weeks, and called my friend to get him to tell my 3 jobs at the moment that I had to deal with some family issues in GA. One of the bosses read the crime log and even though they miss spelled my name, he figured it was me. Then they they posted me again two days later, saying I gave the cops the wrong address, since when I went to the dmv to get a license I did not have an address (homeless) so I used my friends address, whose parents wernt happy to see their address in the paper, so they called to paper to get them to say their address has nothing to do with me, so the paper said I gave the cops the wrong address and do not live at x x x x . Anyways the family excuse worked for 2/3 jobs.

I quit on the job, middle of the day, walked out. I had good reason. The owner was a complete BITCH. The workers were BITCHES. It is a detail shop, a small one. Owner was a lesbian, had two other lesbians working for her. 100% believe they did stuff they would leave ALL day. Anyway they always threw the work to me to do, one day a girl who worked there told me to do this and that, and she was doing NOTHING, and my boss called me a lazy ass, so I said fuck it and left them. Plus I never saw the tip money I was supposed to get.

I've always given 2 weeks notice, no need to burn bridges but then again I've never had a job that really pissed me off. I've always done kitchen jobs and the only thing that pissed me off was when a manager would tell me how to cook when he cant even do it himself. I just knod and smile and continue doing what I'm doing anyways.

I enjoyed my Houston job...except for the 110 degree Texas heat. I assembled parts for off-shore oil rigs. It was either that, or I doing the AutoCAD work for the parts. I also helped keep the shop/office clean and what-not.
