hi, i am looking to build a cobra clone bec i do not have 25-30 grand to buy one..... and i was just wondering if someone could help me out with a few questions bec i am not very internet oriented......i am in need or your knowledge, please help?

1. what year mustangs can i use...as in can i use a 2001 or 02 mustang and will the 03 cobra parts fit on it, or will i have to get a 03/04?

2. where can i find the damn 03/04 cobra parts, i cant find them anywhere??? front rear bumpers/emblems/the mesh wheels specifically/and hopefully a full conversion kit....that would be awsome?

3. where can i get a price on a kenne bell, i cant find a site that has a price for it??? or something that sounds like a kenne bell at least???

oh lord....im going to try to point you in the right direction, b/c theres a good chance the rest of the posts following mine will be you getting flamed

sounds like a kenne bell? are you serious?

i didnt deal too much with the 03/04's as i owned a sn95 cobra, but i believe 99-04 mustangs can be fitted w/ the 03/04 fascias...

try svtperformance.com for both your visual and s/c needs

depending on what you get, ie a v6 or gt the prices for s/c will vary...

personally if i were you id keep my eyes peeled for an sn95 cobra (94-98, preferably the 97-98 yr models, as they have the 4.6 dohc motor instead of the 5.0) s/c w/ a nice tune and call it a day....i picked up my 97 2 years ago w/ 46k miles for $7500 there was a s/c gt on here for sale a while back for 8kl i think, you just have to keep your eyes peeled, deals are everywhere

so far so good guys thx, oh ya and what i meant buy the sound of a kenne bell was that my friend replaced his with another supercharger...i think it was a vortech and he lost the wine sound that i think makes a cobra so fuckin bad ass.

Make sure you get the IRS, its what makes the 03/04 cobra a cobra. It turns! You can skip some of the cosmetic things, you should defiantly get the tranny and the rear end.

1. 99-04 mustangs will work

2. Cobra parts can be found all over the place. Google "Mustang Forum" and Im sure plenty will come up. Some that I frequent are SVTPerformance.com and ModularFords.com. Sometimes you have to register and become a member to view the classifieds.

3. If all you want is the sound, a used Eaton supercharger off of a 03/04 cobra will make it, so will KB and Whipple.

Just wondering why you left out 96. That was the first year of the 4.6.

Terminator is the name of the 03/04 cobras. Kinda how the GTO is called the Goat.

IRS is one of the things that makes a cobra a cobra, you forgot the minor detail of an Eaton supercharger. Im pretty sure you will be able to find an IRS on SVTperformance because A LOT of people use their cobras for straight line only and a solid rear axle can take more abuse than the IRS. If all else fails, Mustang Part Specialties is the biggest mustang grave yard in the world. They will def. have one.

Im looking to get back into either a Fox body 5.0 or a 96-98 cobra in the near future...

in the end, if all you want is the supercharger whine, just get a roots or twin screw S/C and put it on whatever. It will sound similar.

Why not just go to MPS Auto Salvage, get a cheap V6 and a wrecked 03 Cobra and swap the engine/drivetrain in? Total cost is all of $15-20k.

Are you doing this for insurance reasoning or just because you think your going to save money. 03 04 sc cobra crate engines with t56 are $10,000 and up. Try to find a used cobra motor. Then you have the IRS and all the other suspension work. Then you have the interior and exterior parts. Obviously your not a mechanic so you have to pay labor. Your going to spend more money in the end. Buy a used one, theres one in the trader right now for $20,000
