We would go, except we are having a Drift Fury event the day before. ;)

Maybe we can still make it. What is the deal with payouts? Last time we went we didn't get paid out although there were 40 drivers (I know it was Drift411 but you guys are affiliated).

I dunno about the Drift411 ProAm Series event, i dont know how their payouts are, but as our series goes, all competitors are eligible for payouts

You mention Drift411 in your post and they thanked you at the last event. You were also a judge, if I'm not mistaken. That's why I asked. What are the payouts exactly and are they guaranteed? Or is is based on how many people show up and if so, how many need to show up? I think Dan got paid at your last event.

SCCA was "Services for Hire" at the Formula Drift Pro Am event, it is actually NASA sanctioned if you want to get down to it ..lol

Payouts are dynamic to how many entries we get, there will be at least a $300 Purse

$150 - First + Trophy + Free Entry to Next SCCA Series Event
$100 - Second + Trophy + Free Entry to Next SCCA Series Event
$50 - Third + Trophy

I can actually make it to an event for once...my only concern is the noise limit thing. Cam, headers, and bullet muffler's=very loud. Gues theres only one way to find out if its not to loud.

noise limit? There are a few cars that run straight pipes at the events so you should be fine to run.

I was disappointed because apparently not a single one was good enough to break out of the 20's. Maybe some experienced people can tell me what to do because I thought they were a little better but maybe not.

Ron. I wasn't there, but looking at that video, you line was way off for the second clipping point (the one you had to get close to with your rear bumper) and the last c.p.
And on the second run you tagged a cone or two.

Get some more seat time, and then start working on your line. Thats what it seems like to me. Same thing i saw when i was there on may 27th while i was watching ya. Just start hitting more events, come out on the 29th to the dg event. There will be plenty of people there who are willing to help out. Get somebody to ride with you and show you where to place your car. Entry has a lot to do with setting yourself up depending on the course.
I had to change my entry point several times in may to get it right in jameys car.
Just takes time man. Your not doing bad. just need some fine tuning.

-Austin

^^ i agree

i know my problem was, i was too anxious to get dead close to the clipping points and hitting #1 would set me too slow to keep a solid line for 2 and 3. "I guess I need NOS" for more HP to get me around the track.

i actually scored points? yay!

that sucks, the top 8 consists of all my friends EXCEPT me lol. There were 7 of us, the Z, Wes with the e30, and me didnt qualify, while the rest of my friends all made top 8 lol, it was the 350z's first event too, so congrats to him. And to think I was the one teaching him what to do just a week earlier!! ITS HIS CAR!!! I SWEARR!!!! lol

Haha yeah man i was dyin' to get out there. But my appendix had enough of me lol.
You not rockin' out the convertible anymore??

I'll be at the DG event, runnin' cones though. It'll be a little while before the rx7 is really ready now, because i can't do the subframe until im healed, and being out of work for two weeks is draining parts funds.

nah man i actually still own the convertible as a DD but i got a hard top so i dont have to sweat regulations. the only problem is he swap diff so now the convertible has a 4.10 open so ill change that and probably still drift the convertible as a beater. my other car is to pretty and yeah ill be at dg so ill see you then and dont make fun of my crappiness either its a new car.

i heart my s13 is that you JJ
