So how did a bridge like that just fall- I noticed the construction. Someone has alot of explaining to doonly takes one small section on a bridge designed like that to be weak and break taking out the entire thing, it was built with no support columns so all the stress is theoretically on the highest point at the center...

actually there was even a report on its integrity back in 1990

bridge should have been re-designed a long time ago when they realized traffic is building up in the area. I'm sure the bridge (40yrs old) was worked to its limits with the traffic that goes through it today (a lot more than 40yrs ago). but that doesn't matter, it should have been re-designed a long time ago.

it's very unfortunate.

Construction was there re-paving the bridge, not fixing it.

They were doing resurfacing as well as repairs on the bridge. Later, QD.

So if the people involved in the accident sue the city then the city will make cops write more tickets. Funny how it works.

Wow do you not know anything. Later, QD.

i was told that there was a strong gust of wind that blew perpendicular to the bridge, which created an area of high pressure under the bridge which lifted it up and then it moved back down and broke..... as you saw

It is completely unacceptable for something like that to take place in America.

You think a bridge in Miinesota is more important than the war on terror? George Bush most certainly doesn't if it sat around since 1990 in that state. I totally agree with your statement. Reps to you.

Bout time we put out our own fires instead of jumping into our neighbors yards to put out theirs. With all the money we are blowing fighting an enemy we can't pinpoint we could bring our brave troops back home and overhaul damm near every government program, healthcare, poverty and unemployment. But no, we continue to flounder trying to clean up a country that we don't even live in. So ours falls apart and we have accidents like this.

Reps to you.Did you really just type that? If you're seriously going to try and blame this incident on our current president then you sir are retarded. What makes you think that this is even a presidential affair? You'd think that this would rest more on the local and state governments or the DOT. Not to mention that at the time of the initial criticism the president was George Bush Sr. whom was head and shoulders above his son in terms of leadership. After that we had Clinton in office. Why didn't he fix it?. Just because it collapsed during Geroge W's presidency doesn't make it his fault.
