I need an alarm. I have a make shift security system that will prevent someone from stealing my car (unelss they have a tow truck), but I want a traditional alarm.

I don't need it for the security, just for the convenience features like windows up/down, door unlock/lock, and remote start.

Anyone around a good installer? Want to make some cash ont he side? Want a ride in a 600+ RWHP M3. :D

You just need to get a keyless entry system and a remote start setup. Question tho is it a stick? And you should really get it profesionally installed because any system like that is only as good as the installation and on a bimmer if the mess anything up it is very expensive to fix it. my sugestion is got to circuit city and get it hooked up cause if they are fully insured.

Yes it's a stick. I generally don't let other people work on my car at all though. I haven't found a shop yet that would install it on a manually tranny. Even if I did, I doubt that they would work on once they see the extra electronics that I've added to it.

what all extra do you have on there? JW. yea its hard to find a system to do the remote start on a manual however I have it on my car and I put it on there myself. I got it through Compustar. It works great and has the two way lcd remote, remote start, keyless, security the whole package but it retails for around $650 to $700.

In my dash I have keyless pushbutton start, Carputer, stealth radar detector and laser shifter, EBC, rear HID's, and my own security system that disables the fuel pumps and the starter.

x2 we are both distributors of alarms and i have heard multiple stories and have even seen i happen it person, A nice prelude slammed into a pole of a fence at shop. its not a good idea.

maybe you're smart enough not to push the button in gear, but is your girlfriend? drunk ass friend?(the prelude above was done at the shop by someone who worked there.) it happens.

but if you're a baller and dont give a shit go ahead.
he does have a good point, shit happens with remote starts on manuals. :goodjob:

Thanks for the advice and concern, but it's not needed here.

Very few people will ever drive my car. Certainly not women or drunk ass friend.

No, having 800 hp doesn't make me smart. But having an 800 hp M3 as a daily driver means that I am.

Actually my sig says 616 RWHP, which is much more than 600 HP. And, I'm telling you that it is an 800 HP M3. My sig does not reflect my full boost power level.

Work on the smart part as to avoid just being an ass.

The only thing that is going to be a bitch about it (besides the fact that its a Beamer lol) are the window mods. If you already have push-button start then its cake (kinda). They are right about the clutch bypass though, I was really carefull with mine and my phone bumped my keys and my car ended up in somebody's yard lol. I think compustar makes one that will not start when it is in gear. Try Area 41 in kennesaw they do some pretty crazy stuff. I would do it but I hate working on German cars.

Actually, driving a 800 hp car daily doesnt make you smart.
Making 800 at the crank is a big difference, nobody ever goes by crank HP, its worthless. What you put on the ground is all that matters.

As far as taking your advise, fat chance I will always be a smart ass,.
Its better to be a smart ass than a dumbass, and you sir are a dumbass for remote starting a manual.

have a nice day.

Uhh, right. I said that it did not make me smart. I also didn't say anything about taking my advice.

Thanks. I rarely if ever leave it in gear anyway.
