well my exhaust is rattling like hell and sounds like its about to fall apart.... which it is

what is a good exhaust that sounds good. price isnt an issue as long as it isnt like $1k

what sounds good but doesnt sound like the typical fart can bullshit?

custom build?
what muffler?
pipe size?

pipe size depends on motor, future plans, turbo/ n/a but 2 1/4 should be fine.

magnaflow, and a few other mufflers arent too ricy sounding,
FLOWMASTER makes an exhaust for the crx, that isnt loud at all, but still sounds nice (its not like a truck lol)

get a ebay cat conveter and then get a custom downpipe job. its practically silent.

look at "the new guy" thread on new members, and look at mine.

i dont have the cat conveter cause i have a turbo, but the 3" downpipe and muffler, sound like best exhaust youve ever heard.

3" ??? yeah right. are u jsut saying 3 in. "downpipe" as u call it, and then smaller or 3 all the way back?

cant jsut say 3 inch dp and muffler, theres a pretty good bit of piping between the two.

If price isn't an issue go for an exhaust like the GReddy or Thermal R&D, they run about $500.

i have stock pipes with no muffler and i think it sounds better than anything i've heard that someone has paid money for... atleast for a d15

You could always buy my exhaust! Its a skunk2 catback. It sounds aggressive as hell LOL.

Well my favorite (and future) exhaust is the buddyclub spec II. Its like one of the best exhaust on the market and its a lot cheaper then most catbacks. The only flaw is it exits on the wrong side of the car, but still look hot as hell.

^^ im not against anything too aggressive. i might just have a custom exhaust bent up for it.

yea, but... idk, w/e.

lol my car is slow, so i dont throw massive amounts of money at it to get it fast, i've just faced the fact that the motor has no potential, lol.

Maybe one day i'll sell the ZC and get a b16 and call it a day :ninja:

Even tho I say the ZC is a worthless motor, it has the same potential as an a6. I would get invest in a greddy turbo kit for it since I hear that kit was first designed for the ZC. Plus, that kit is less than $1500.

eh my pockets arent deep really .... i mean shit if they were id have a supra or silvia or some shit.... but when i buy something i dont mind spending $$$ to get what i want.... ill save for it.

i just want to buy quality parts and do it right the first time. :)

i thought about turbo but id rather have a monster motor.... see other thread...

anyone have a Tanabe exhaust?

Go custom. It'll run you about 200-300$. No rasp. I know a great shop in Marietta. I haven't been there myself, but I sent a friend there, and he had no complaints...

B16 - 2"
B18 - 2.25"

Of course...if you get a turbo, I don't think size of exhaust matters...but turbos aren't my field of expertise..

you just need to put some new muffler bearings on there and your old exhaust will be fine.

turbos like bigger exhaust than that. as big as you can get basically. makes it easier to spool

the problem is, i need the exhaust now. i cant wait to do a swap and then do the exhaust.... i guess ill just get a stock replacement for now. nothing fancy just new pipes and shit.

ill do a nicer one when i get around to doing the swap. and i wouldnt expect a stock replacement to be more than 250 or 300.... so thats not bad.

but then again i had one made for my last crx and it cost me 450.... and it was just stock. but i know a guy that does an AWESOME job over near tucker and ill go check it out

alright . REVIVAL!

so im in the market for an exhaust now. theres shit/rust in my muffler and it sounds like hell and is Oh so annoying. Ive been lookin at a tanabe exhaust, anyone know anything about them. sound/quality wise??? or Invidia

Invidia (http://www.raceinspired.com/ps-205-58-invidia-n1-catback-exhaust-honda-crx-ef8-1988-1991.aspx)

Tanabe (http://www.raceinspired.com/ps-3030-58-tanabe-concept-g-honda-crx-ef-1988-1991.aspx)

other options from this site. never said i would or wouldnt buy from them they just have a pretty good description of the systems

Others (http://www.raceinspired.com/showSection.aspx?SectionID=58&CategoryID=4&ManufacturerID=0)

ill be doing a big swap later on down the road so i need something that will handle a decent sized motor.... up to 2.1L or so, while not being TOO big for my d16

Both of those are good choices.

{sidenote}
That tanabe looks just like the exhaust (skunk2) I was trying to sell you a few weeks back for cheap LOL. Well never mind because it's sold now.
