Nah xp is still better for games. But overall vista is nice, but its definitely more of a resource hog than xp was.

nick, you don't want vista to even mess with....it's a mess and a headache to even look at.....give it about another year or whenever they release a servicepack or something, and better make sure you have a comp with at least 1gb ram....I mean, that is still barely enough....vista soaks up alot of your machine....

For dx10 games true, but those games will also run in dx9 mode, so they'll be xp playable but not as pretty as the vista version. Though theres only one dx10 game out right now anyway.

I have vista and I love it but it does use a lot of resources. I have had no problems with it. It mirrors Macs a lot but it is nice on some things how it asks for permission before it does anything.

is using an illegal copy of vista ultimate such a good idea?

i imagine with the new and improved operating system
better security is on it as well. Microsoft is infamous about big brother watching you, they could give 2 shits if you copied a game, but i dunno, they have a lot of spyware that could maybe figure out u copied it.

just a thought, don't want u getting caught doing it.

If you're talking about running direct X 10, then you also need to buy a dX 10 capable video card. Those are pricey. Plus the only way you'll notice the real advantage from dX 9 is if you use two dX 10 video cards, and a very bad ass monitor. Don't bother unless you're willing to spend $500+ on your computer. Invest that $500 in a hefty bag of weed and you won't give a damn if you're playing on dX 9.

ATi plans to release physics cards with in the next year or so. I'd rather get one of those.

well that all depends if he finds and cracks a keycode or actually gets a hold of one or what - really the license key is the $$$
