Did a little more deadening last night and took some pictures of some of the speakers going into the car.

Arc Audio KS6006 Component Speakers are going to go in the front stage. Thanks to my buddy Pete Lutz for donating these towards the build!

Got the majority of the sound deadening in the trunk done now. Starting to see more progress in the form of extending wires and sub box floor boards.

Enter Stinger Roadkill Expert Sound Deadening bulk pack #2

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62410emd.jpg

Cut out a piece of MDF for the sub woofer box base plate leaving room for wires to be run

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62410emd-2.jpg

Fine tuned the mirrors and added sound deadening on the insides

damn, thats crazy lol.

lol not even the least bit crazy.. you should see some cars we do here at the shop. 3-4 layers of deadening easy. i am only doing 2 layers

i can't wait to see the finished product for your audio set-up.
car is amazing btw:thumbup:

thanks slowly but surely

more progress today:

got some rails for a super secret compartment and some PL400 to glue down the subwoofer enclosure floor board

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62510wesbf.jpg

used just about the whole bottle on the mdf board and then put the rest on the edges and put my subs on it to keep some pressure on it

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62510wesbf-2.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62510wesbf-10.jpg

since we are going to run wires a little differently in the trunk we decided to extend some wires so that we could route the wires away from the subwoofer enclosure.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62510wesbf-4.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/62510wesbf-11.jpg

Got around to taking apart the mirrors and painting them black. I was going to do carbon wrapping but the curves on the mirror proved to be too extreme for the threads to stretch without looking funny. Big thanks to Bucky for spraying them black for me.

SRT intake getting some love

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99mm-2.jpg

Yup some exhaust wrap for my intake lol. I thought it would look cooler than just respraying it. I will most likely be doing the headers as well down the road.

Yeah gonna wrap the handles in carbon fiber vinyl to match the door inserts that I did previously. If all goes according to plan I will have more of this material integrated in the car in the future as well as the suede.

Exterior Cameras

Decided that I wanted to have not only a rear camera but a front one as well. This is so that I can see speed bumps more clearly, parking humps, etc…

The car is a little dirty but that’s how she’s gonna stay till it is done lol.

Started by taking off the license plate

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-20.jpg

Used a uni-bit to get a hole big enough for the wiring to pass through

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr.jpg

Hole is cut

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-5.jpg

After smoothing out the cut I then dampened both sides of the hole to seal it off from the elements

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-11.jpg

Dampened the rear of the camera mount for vibrations

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-9.jpg

I opted to go with the license plate style camera due to its versatility, adjustability, and ease of access, plus it was what we had available to us at the shop for an awesome price lol

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-17.jpg

Tested out the rear view, lol I know I look like a dork. The image is a little blurry too because the protective film on the cameras is still on

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-16.jpg

Wiring up the wires for the camera and also the rear monitor for the trunk. Might as well do it all at once

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-2.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-10.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-15.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-18.jpg

Front camera is mounted. This sits right where I want it. Center and all I’ll have to do is cut out the grill material on the bumper in the bottom central opening to have full view

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-8.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-19.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f279/CarbonGS/GS300%20Build/99rr-4.jpg

Testing out the front view. Again the image is a little blurry too because the protective film on the cameras is still on.

Project facelift

Got this bumper from Alexus300 as a birthday present and it was time for a facelift so we decided to pull the trigger and start the installation process and see what needed to be re-fiberglassed as well as what areas on the bumper we needed to address. Thanks again Vu! I especially love that it gives me an extra inch of ground clearance now but don’t worry everyone we’ll be getting the air ride on soon so it won’t look too high for too long :)

Purchased this Veilside grill from Batmobile for my car. Took a little work to make it fit but nothing a little fiberglass won’t fix haha. Cut off the tabs and sanded down the grill for some custom fitment

So, it's official "Layla - My Car" is expecting..... twins :) Turbos that is. She's a little dirty but with a little TLC and wrench time she's gonna be as good as new

Still planning out the turbo build right now. Had a few financial hiccups along the way. Life happens, but now we are back on track. Can't wait to get it boosted!

hey thanks, yeah it's a piece together kit. there wasn't a full kit available at the time that i liked all the pieces to.

as for the changes coming in 2012-2013 they are performance driven. it is coming along slowly but surely. a few other priorities and goals to reach this year so the car isn't on the top of the list of things to complete. you know how it is though, it'll never be "done" lol. always changing, always evolving...

have you had to replace arc equipment like amp or anything? Because a friend of mine does stereos up in North Carolina as has to send stuff back to them all the time.

brings back memories. I remember you rolling up to BP when you got your front bumper and first set of chrome wheels. Shit was clean back then. You've heard it before, car looks amazing how it sits now!

edit- can't wait to see twins under that bonnet! Gonna be icing on the cake. Good luck!
