need help unlockin a phone

guys i dont know where i should have posted this so please if necessary move to right section .... im trying to unlock a cingular phone and cingular and samsung( maker of phone ) wont come off a unlock code .... any help,suggestions and (or ) ideas feel free to let me know ,.thanks:thinking:

if you still have the manual look in there and see what the lock code is.

no manual .. its a samsung sgh-c417 model number ...my gf gave me the fone and she lost the box ..its in new condition .is why i want to use it and cant seem to get anybody that can unlock it .. even tried some websites .. so im jus running out of options .
