lol @ squirter lights.
I really didn't join the "tuner" scene until '02 . My first cars went as follows......
my first car was in '95, mother gave it to me
'81 Monte Carlo 229 c.i.d slowest POS, sold
'67 Chevy C10 with a 400 SBC, LSD, Rally wheels stolen
'82 Subaru 1800 GL FWD sold
'81 Subaru 1600 DL 4WD sold
'84 Subaru 1800 GL turbo 4WD impounded
'82 Subaru 1600 GL FWD sold
'79 Plymouth Voyager full size van sold
'90 Buick Lesabre limited repo'd
'86 Ford F150 current w/ 400k miles :goodjob:
'95 Mazda 626 LX 4 banger wrecked
'93 Mazda 626 LX 4 banger My sister wrecked
'92 Nissan Maxima GXE Donated because it was the biggest POS
'94 Mazda 626 LX V6 current
'94 Mazda 626 LX 4 banger sold to neighbor
'97 Mazda 626 ES V6 current
The most I've done to any of my cars externally was what my current car has, which btw is very functional. Proven time and time again. I've never been a big fan of body kits and spoilers.

Damn, you must've REALLY liked those 626s. Was it the "Swing" feature of the A/C? I haven't yet seen another car that has that.
That's pretty cool though. :goodjob:
My dad had a 1987 BMW 325 that he promised would be my first car. It got sold before I got my license though.
Anyway, he wanted to replace the steering wheel because the stocker was the size of a bus steering wheel. I picked out a cheap Momo 3-spoke wheel. It was black with a leather-wrapped rim. It looked cool as hell, but the smaller diameter made the steering feel a little heavier.

That's the one, but it didn't have that piece around the horn button. It looked better that way anyway.
One of the rims cracked too...so my dad went and got some Koenig wheels...they're five-spokers with GT-R written on one spoke. I know you know what I'm talking about...everyone seems to have these wheels.
I had that car for some time while I had my permit...and my buddy Mark called me a ricer when he saw the wheels, because of the red Rs...haha.
I loved that car...but now I have a SAAB. I've always been into very minor cosmetic modifications. I want to make some angel eyes for my car, black out the tail-lights, get some 35% tint, and eventually get some wheels for it.

Swing vents FTW!!! lol
They're just misunderstood cars. Just like Saabs are misunderstood. But with alot of potential. I like the platform my car is on, it has great potential for upgrades. They ride great. and it's a quiet car. Can't go wrong with it. Plus, my V6 gets 28 mpg on the highway :tongue1:

I see what you're saying. Hah, I never would've thought about a 626 in a scene like this.

the worst case of rice I ever had was carbon fiber look lights on the ass of my first del Sol. I also rolled around with only bodykit sideskirts on another one for a while while I was saving up for the rest of the kit... but yeah those have been my ricer transgressions... luckily I posted on a forum called hondavision, and they were anti-rice before it was cool to be anti-rice.

lemme guess, the tranny gave out?
That year is notorious for that without a doubt.

I never had a ricer stage. My dad couldn't shut up about cars when I was a kid and he had to explain everything to me. So when I finally got into modifying cars and everyone @ my high school told me to buy a body kit and such, I just ignored them.

Yep, that's exactly what happened. I call myself going to the junkyard to go get another tranny. I promise to god that every other Maxima there the transmission was missing or completely torn apart in the back seat. So the salvation army got that curse of a car.

fuck you and your fuel efficient v6s.
My cars go like this
1990 Volvo 240: Wrecked, and I was happy. biggest POS
1990 Dodge Dayton 2.5t: Impounded.
1989 Volvo 740t: Junked but its spirit lives on
1990 Volvo 740gle: Parts car for now
1992 Volvo 940gl: Daily D being loaned
1994 Volvo 940t: Current daily/project car
With the exception of the dodge, which was modded before I got it, almost none of my cars had external mods. I"ve tried to keep the ricer to a minimum, but the dodge was too much. Red with black hood and trunk, lowered, LED washer nozzles, and red hoses underneath with painted valve cover. It did have IC upgrade, upgraded turbo, zenier diode, larger injectors and upgraded computer, but still.....Fun car tho.
The volvos have all been fairly well hidden. The last car had few external mods with the exception of a single sticker outside, a visible muffler tip and a low slung snorkel intake that peeked below the front spoiler. It was pretty understated and belied what was underneath. The current car, I've taken pretty drastic steps to make sure this one is competely overlooked by the average gauker. Unless you know volvos, you will be hard pressed to know this car is even modded.

Isn't "True Life" the name of Maniac's blog? How fitting.:lmfao:
