or build them to not stick thru the hood... there is plenty of clearance to have 90's instead of straights from the plenum down..

That is a gorgeous example of a slick car. I love everything about it. I would really like to see it with the hood down to get more of an overall feeling of the flow.

I was about to say the same thing.

Hot car but in my opinion the ridiculous intake runners detract from the car. They are just pure overkill; everything else about the car is nice.

I wouldn't say they are overkill. The problem with doing 90's on a car flowing that much air would be turbulence. You could actually starve the engine for air not to mention the plenums act like a funnel ram.

the intake runners are probally like that for a reason. it probally has a better power ban with them taller.

that thing is badass performance and looks. But is there going to be a filter and some sort of mesh over the turbo inlets....I can already picture a bird flying in the turbo through that hood scoop.

There should still be some type of cover on those turbo's.. The risk isnt worth the......... Maybe they took it off for the "showing"

the hood scoops have a billet insert, and as far as birds flying in to the turbo inlet, i hope you wouldnt be driving around with the hood open

SilverJester
08-11-2005, 02:05 AM
as long as there is something preventing stuff from getting sucked into the turbos. but I just noticed the roll cage and harnesses seem a bit pointless considering that the cage isnt NHRA/IRHA legal (no cross bar).

for anyone intrested... i might have it backwards ill check some enging notes i have lieing around

longer intake runners, both on the heads and intake plenum, increase your power at a lower power band. shorter increase your power at a higher power band. My guess would be that due to the initial lag of boost pressure, while the bad boys are spooling up they used the longer intake runners to one stabilize the incoming air and try to make it as smooth as possible, and two to give it a little help while it is spooling up.

Now like i said i might have the concept backwards as i am a chassis/body fabricator and do do a lot of engine work. if im wrong ill correct myself in here unless someone beats me to the punch.

Update!

Well in a weird turn of events, one of the builders of Shadrach goes to my church. The guys that are building the car are Blake Wilder and Mike Langston. Was able to hang out with them and talk to them about the car. It is even more impressive in person and the guys are really down to earth. Got to see another Shadrach in the making along with the prototype sitting next to it.

The website is http://www.shadrachmustang.com/ and if wanted I can see about getting more pics up of one in the process or of the car.
