ok how do u put a cai on a car that has the electric plug thingy in the side of the air box... because when i put the cai on the car wont stay running it just sputters and cuts off. but when i put the stock air box on and put the plug back in its fine:???:

sure is... i was thinkin maybe there is a problem somewhere else causing it shut off. because on my volvo i didnt have this problem when i disconnected the plug f.y.i current car is a jetta

If it's made for your car it should have an adapter or something to allow you to plug it up. Got pics?

i have no pics of the actual one... but it says 93-97 jetta on the package but where the plug is on the old one there is just a hole like there would be on a honda intake... i think i got ripped off... ebay ftw!

thats the only way to take the air box off the plug goes directly into the back of the air box

wht i did was took a rubber piece and put a hole in it and stuck the sensor in there:) and connect it to intake

replace the stock airbox with the filter, unless you get an expensive intake that replaces your mass airflow meter, you cant disconnect the sensor without the car dying.
yea it sounds like ur unplugging ur MAF sensor. ur can dosnt know how much air is coming into the engine so it dosnt know how much fuel to give. if its a nice CAI then it will have a spot to put the factory MAF onto
