I would have given the land up for half that, but kudos out to that guy. Hella pride.

Tough call. On the one hand he has his heritage, but with $5 billion... he could donate that money and save millions of lives. Heritage v. lives, I know what I would choose. Not that I wouldn't feel bad about selling out, though.

The governement when they find a way to take it. You honestly think that they are going to just say "Well, ok, got us there"? Lawl, no way, i'll be money that at this very moment they have about 53422152 lawyers scrutinizing the books, his tax records, his personal life, his familys history, looking for anything they can to make him either a criminal or in debt to them so they can seize that land.

Hell, it took them 6 months to take land from a guy in Athens to build the Classic Center, you think they are going to let 5 billion dollars worth of Uranium sit there?

If you do, you don't know America. ;)

im sure if you had some "sacred land" that belonged to your ancestors and "clan" or whatever, you wouldnt be so happy to get rid of it. even for 5 bil. .... and technically he has the money.... its just still in the ground. so hes rich no matter what...

What will happen
1. Oil company exec calls government exec "dig up dirt on this dude"
2. Govent finds or does not find dirt
3. Govenement says "well u kill him, we ain't doing it"
4. Smart dude "there must be a better way, lets just nationalize his land and call it a state park"
5. Governt siezes land, gives him free passes to his own land.
6. Company makes deal to get ore out some of the park

Case closed.

It's AUSTRALIA people -- their government is quite conservative when it comes to things like this, especially when it involves indigenous people. I'm sure the Australian Department of the Environment and Water Resources will prevent anything from happening to it. :2cents:

$5billion, hell yeah i'd sell it, even if its aussie money. That's still like $4.3 billion USD. The interest alone rolling over every year could help support a few poverty stricken countries.

Invest in bonds and after 5 years start giving 1 mil to everyone I know...LOL. i really would too i mean what could you do with 4.3 billion. Besides donate it you can buy basically anything almost. IDK though it would be cool to buy an Island maybe a few mile wide off the coast of the bahama's or something. But if you invested that in bonds you could literally double your money over the course of like 5 years I think it is and then just be filthy damn rich. I would start giving my family/ family friends 1 or 2 million. Only the ones i liked that is.lol
