Are they any good? Which one would be better? Know where I can get a good deal on it?

Thanks!

Not true. 323 is the same motor as the 325 but the engine and trans have different software to make it not as fast and have less horsepower.

It also has a different exhaust setup to "restrict" the performance a bit.

The only 4 cyl in the e36 was the 318.

For the US market yes. There are 316, 320 etc

He was asking about E46s..not E36. There was no 4 cylinder E46 in the US. The 99/00 E46 323 is basically the same mechanically as the 01 325 and the 99/00 328 is basically the same mechanically as the 01 330.

If you care about power I would reccomend the 328/330 highly over the much slower 323/325.

Wow... ummm this post is 2 months old...

1 - Learn how to read man. I said "Yes for the US market" *Pause* There are 316 and 320. Not available here no but elsewhere yes.

2 - No it not. The 323 has a different tranny(and software on that tranny to make it slower) It also has different engine software than the 325 to make it slower. There are a couple other minor differences to make the 323 feel more "entry level".

3 - No it is not. The 99/00 328 has the older motor from the e36 chassis not the newer N52.

I would recommend a 325 and 330 over either the 323 or the 328. The 328 is HARDLY faster than the 325 and it is the bastard child of BMW along with the 323. Stay away from E46 323 and 328. They are TURDS!
