From what I understand, you can sell as many as you want as long as you don't sell more than three at once. At that point, you will need to get a dealer's license. Later, QD.

ive heard that you can only sell 5 or 6 a year that you get titled. after that you need a dealers license.

What I do is not out them in my name and get the person I am buying the car from not date it or anything just get them to sign it and leave it as a open title so it can be signed into the next owners name but I have heard it is 5 aswell but not sure

You will be put in jail for skipping title if you are caught. The law technically states that you need a license if you plan on selling a car for profit, even if you only sell one a year, but they will start looking into your activities if you reach 5 a year.

+1

More than that legally you would need a dealers license.

There is no "number" of how many you can do each year. you can do 2 or 200. If you are caught with an open title to a vehicle im sure you could get into some trouble. I have a friend that works at the hapeville dmv and he says that if your name appears a lot they might start looking and watching you if appears a lot of times in a small time frame.

it's 5 unless they changed the law recently. i've bought and sold that many in the past 2 years (2 the first year, 3 the following) and the max personal sales per year are 5, but that doesnt say that yo mamma, pops sister and brother can't sell them>! not that mine ever have....
