I will be driving to G-nett tonight since technically im on vacation. I was curious as to whether or not anyone was running since I will be up that way. I would like to get some runs in against 300-350 hp car now that I have changed a couple of parts on my car. (Last time was just embarrasing car would run at 15 psi and just sucked).

I came rolling through looking for some runs but everyone is a pussy up there. Someone needs to call INS on most of those fucking beaners up there and so all the cool folks have their spot back.

Ron, give me another 2-3 weeks to get everything sorted out with my new motor and I'll hand you your ass. I havent raced a 240 in a couple of years, with ~240whp I would normally end up a half car ahead of them from a 60mph pull.

I did see you there. I was sitting on the ground right next to mike (orange and green miata) when you were looking to run. I have the gray 240. The guy with the fd was right there too.

i'll turn off my boost controller and run off the 9psi wastegate spring, should be like 250ish hp

I definately though about it. Even though you were at 400ish. But i figured i would have gotten dominated. I should be in the 300 range.

300 to the wheels?
Yea. I finnally got the intake and fuel sorted out. Its like a never ending battle though because it spikes 20 psi but wont hold. I end up at 16 or so. Could that be solved with a better boost controller?

possibly
is 20psi above the turbo's efficiency though? what turbo's on it?

It has a ball bearing t28 that came stock on a 2000 model s15.

s15 turbo should be round 280 @ 15-16psi, that turbo should hold 18psi no problem, and if you had a boost leak unless it was very very small, as soon as you boost it'd start bucking/coughing/acting a fool so i don't think it's that. still double check your coupler clamps and replace any dry rotting/cracked couplers. if your wastegate actuator arm is adjustable try taking a little slack out of it also. if you're running a manual boost controller then it may be actually set@ 16psi but is just spiking to 20. manual bc + internal wastegate = spike.
best bang for the buck = old school GReddy Profec. it's just like a mbc as far as adjustability but it holds true /w no spike the whole way across, plus you can set the gain higher to have the turbo come in sooner. i would definately not recommend assuming it's set to 16 but spiking at 20, so in compensating setting the base to 20 and having it spike to 22-24. it's cheaper to get a good boost controller than another motor.
what injectors? engine management?

Thats it exactly. I just have a mbc so im guessing that is what causes the spike. I have looked at the profec B.

cool, yeah the ole school one is easier to set than the new one but once you figure the new one out you're fine. they're both great for the money
good luck man, hope to see you saturday
