I have a 96 dx that has a b16 with no crank angle censor so it throws a code all the time. Where can I go and get my car passed.

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:40 AM
nowhere. its obd 2. find a CAS and stop the code.

07-02-2007, 09:41 AM
why the hell would you not have a CAS?

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:43 AM
because you're an idiot. and honestly without a CAS, how does the car run? i mean the CAS is the hallefect sensor. it tells the comp where the engine is in relation to ignition timing....

jimbrown
07-02-2007, 09:45 AM
I know its obd 2 96 and newer, whats a CAS

jimbrown
07-02-2007, 09:46 AM
never mind that shit

ive got testpipes and im throwing a ses light. anyone know someone that will pass me for a few extra bucks?

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:48 AM
CAS Crank Angle Sensor. located on the head on and SR, i dont know about the B series engine. SR's are Cam Angle Sensors though. thats where they figure ignition timing from, either one you have. get one, period. or your shit aint going nowhere....

Ok here is a tip of the day....When you clear the code how long does the light stay out if you clear as it is running then drive it with out shutting it off??? if it stays off within about 30 miles you can get it to pass yourself, clear the codes while its running..drive about 30 stop an go and scan it an check readiness an see if all but 2 are set if so it will pass,if it comes soon after you clear it your screwed know one can get a OBD2 to pass due to it reads the VIN ,and codes, readiness etc. Understand?

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:53 AM
everything is a hodge podge? and no CAS. where did you buy it? i mean hondas run like tanks, but not without all the shit in there... bad first buy for the world of hondas. they are literally one of the most reliable vehicles. just don't let that get to you and make you think they're all POS's. this is coming from a nissan guy.

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:55 AM
it's not gonna pass without the CAS joshuaASE... sorry man. i dont even know how tat ting is even running at all.

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:55 AM
just a passing thought, but jimbrown are you 16? did you just get your liscense?

Tech5
07-02-2007, 09:56 AM
CAS you dont have to use it if the computer your useing is OBD1 OBD2 computer you would have to use it or it run like shitt,in this case you need to change the oil pump due to your dont have the spot for the sensor to bolt on,and you need a OBD2 computer to pass ...Since you got a OBD1 set up you can throw what I said out the door b/c its not going to read anything threw your DLC so your screwed unless you fix it like I said ... (fix it) change oil pump ,add CAS sensor, plug it in ,change computer, Thanks Joshua

sullen
07-02-2007, 09:57 AM
ok, jim brown. heres how you're gonna get it to pass emissions without the CAS. go get a 2 guage wire, about 5 feet in length. attach to the + terminal on the battery, attach the other end to the intake manifold. BAM. instant emissions passer.

Tech5
07-02-2007, 09:59 AM
LMAO @ go get a 2 guage wire, about 5 feet in length. attach to the + terminal on the battery, attach the other end to the intake manifold. BAM. instant emissions passer.

sullen

no, well......maybe. but he doesnt know what it will do....so he has to try and see first?

Tech5

When you buy a JDM engine they dont come with a CAS ..so most JDM junky yards know us US have a CAS sensor and they c hange the oil pump, add sensor for use, so he must got it cheap an they didnt care about him ...people convert it to obd1 an you dont have to use it b/c obd1 dont have one...

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:05 AM
ok, i know another instant emissions passer trick. got a few of 'em up my sleeve. get a rope about 10' in length. tie one end around your axle/cv boot, and the other end to the gas pedal. when you drive down the rad, the rope will keep your gas pedal from being depressed too far thus creating less emissions.

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:05 AM
my sr came with a CAS. but its also OBD1...

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:08 AM
i got another trick for the emissions. remove your catalytic converter and stuff it with human hair. you can retrieve this valuable item from any barbers shop... just stuff it down in there, and put the cat back in. the hair acts a little like a sponge, absorbing the bad emissions and making the exhaust smell like a hot bitches hair just after she got out of the shower... right before playing with your package.

Tech5
07-02-2007, 10:08 AM
Here is 1) Fix it the right way an be done with it..Very easy fix...Take the wheel off ,take belts off, losen tensinor for timing belt, take valve cover off, take belt off, take oil pan off, take oil pump screen off and then pump , reverse all with a OBD2 oil pump with a CAS spot, make sure you keep timing marks

Tech5
07-02-2007, 10:09 AM
L LMAO @ Hair Bitchs

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:10 AM
bent valves only equate to positive emissions. they save you on the heat part of the test.

Tech5
07-02-2007, 10:11 AM
I think if you dont know how to fix it dont work on fixin them up to race ...UNLESS you got the money t0 pay me to ...

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:11 AM
joshua, this guy doesnt know his dick from his arm, you honestly expect him to be able to replace something like that :/ on the other hand, maybe he should try. hondas are built like tanks...

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:12 AM
shit, i need money more than you. we can go joint on that car. half and half. we'll do all of my emissions tricks and it'll ass like it never was running...

Tech5
07-02-2007, 10:15 AM
I'll tell you what ill be part of setting there watching you do your tricks then laughing my ass off when this thing does pass >.

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:28 AM
dude, fix it right. go get everything OBD2 for the engine. comp, sensors, everything. or go swap it to a completely OBD1 motor.

Vteckidd
07-02-2007, 10:39 AM
you must buy an OBD2 OIL PUMP from a B SERIES MOTOR and a CRANK ANGLE SENSOR. you then must install it, an wire the sensor into the ecu.

Then you must run an OBD2 ECU, i suggest one like an LS so it doesnt look for VTEC codes.

that is the only LEGAL way for it to pass.

YOU WILL NOT PASS WITH AN OBD1 ECU

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:42 AM
he just needs the 2 ga wire to pass....

Vteckidd
07-02-2007, 10:43 AM
if you look on ff-squad.com there is a trick to TRICKING the Crank Angle SEnsor code.

you can wire 2 wries together an keep it from throwing the code on a OBD2 ecu.

short of doing that, youll hav to ILLEGALLY pass it, or buy everything i mentioned

or the 2 ga wire......

CRACKaLACKIN
07-02-2007, 10:55 AM
how about u put a crank angle sensor on it to make it pass?

sullen
07-02-2007, 10:57 AM
we've covered that. he needs a CAS and the 2 ga wire to pass emissions, bare minimum...

CRACKaLACKIN
07-02-2007, 11:00 AM
or just needs to fucking move out of the county or find a friend out of the counties that need emissions
