Buddy of mine just bought a 92 240sx Coupe, and has a problem with the headlights. When he turns on the switch, the headlights will come up, but when he tries to turn the switch off, the headlights will not come back down. The lights turn off though. Im thinking of adding ground, and power with a power probe to the motor to see if something is wrong with the motors, and then im going to do it the other way around, but if that doesn't work Im suggesting it's a switch that's bad. :???:

Comments are welcomed.

My Miata is starting to have that exact same problem. Check the switch that activates them first. (Dunno where it is on the 240). That's the first thing to go. Bad/dirty connection. If both lights get stuck in the same position it's nothing wrong with the motors.

No, I haven't checked that at the moment. Im not really familiar with the 240's.

Yeah, there's a button to the left of the gauge cluster that has a headlight symbol on it. Try pushing it. It controls the up/down of the lights with the lights off.

Alright, Ill be telling buddy. He said that there is only one that controls the lights and that is the one you turn. But I will see.

Dude, the previous owner probably cut the red wire (I think it's the red one) that connects with the switch. I remember reading up on a DIY. That's why they call it "SLEEPY HEADLIGHTS."

240sx ftw.it maybe a wire that is cut somewhere or brown wire going to the switch above cruise control if u have an se model but i f you have a base model, there won't be a cruise control.the tap switch would just be flat.
