So I took my spark plug wires off today and replaced them with new ones, cranked the car and it rattled like if I were to place a 402 engine in my lil lancer it was shakeing the whole car it wont accelerate... So I thought  it maybe a bad product so I took them back out and put the orignal ones back on, its still doing it... If any one is fimilar with a lancer there is NO way to cross the wires up there are only 2. so please anyone a idea, I have school tomorrow need the car. thanks.

so where are the other 2 plugs? did you end up with extra parts when you put everything on?

under those black squares, no spare parts... I thought maybe the stems that attach to the black squares maybe crossed but I tried them and switched em and no good...

did you double check make sure all your wires are popping onto the plugs right so some cylinders arent firing and some not? and does it go away when engine warms up?

Ok, Take the two wires off and look down into the cylinder and see if part of the wire is stuck on the plug? if not what else did you do? plugs? anything else and was this problem like this before or just after ..

and since you seem to think youre so fucking smart why dont you chime in on what the problem could be....dumbfuck

take the wires off. take the plugs out. look at the connection at the very top of the plug. i had a problem like that on one of my motorcycles before. all it was was that the little piece of metal that screws ontop of the plug had come unscrewed. screw that bitch down tight if it's loose, put it gently into a vice and sort of crimp it. once its on there firmly, put it back on. since the car is OBD II, DO NOT REMOVE THE PLUG WIRES WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING!!!!!!!!!! you can send a charge back to the computer that way and fry it. when the car goes in gear, there's a load on the engine. makes it harder for it to run. so naturally, if there's a dead cylinder, the engine will have a harder time turning over.

check all the grounds as well. my friends civic ran like shit because of a bad ground. when i swapped in my SR, it did the same thing. found the ground on the back of the head, plugged it to the firewall, ran alot better. still didn't help the fact the motor was blown and the seller won't honor the warantee.

if theres no cel, then i gotta be honest and say i dont know much about these engines, i know a good bit about the 4g63's, but havent done more than an oil/air filter change on one of these, and that was only once

sullen

yea, the 4g63 is a much better engine. this one was designed with the economy in mind though. not like 4g's

noooooo do not do that. fine if its obd1
you have obd2, should never do that with obd2. ground it out at all times when turning over. if its not gounded, charge goes bak thru the system and fries the computer.

go get a spark plug tester. you'll unplug the plug wire ontop of the plug, insert the tester onto the top of the plug, connect the plug wire to the other end of the tester, and go turn it over. if you see a spark, that cyl is fine. check the others that way. find the dead cyl, check the spark plug. everything on the plug.

plug testers are only like $5 anyways. cheap enough.
