Vtec is actually a marketing tool honda uses to create a placebo effect, tricking one into believing that the are now under heavier acceleration while in actuality its just louder.

i honestly didnt even feel it much in the s2k. that as well as the lack of torque turned me off.

Hondas are supposed to make torque? I thought they were powered by sound waves. Thats not why people put huge exhausts on them?

i hope you realize that an 02 civic doesnt even have real vtec.... even the 02 Si doesnt have real 3 rocker vtec... only B16A, B16B, B18C, H22A, H23A-jdm bluetop AWD SiR-T wagon, K20A2, K20Z1, K20Z3, K24A2, F20B-jdm blue top SiR-T, F20C, F22C, NSX C30A, and C32B actually have real VTEC...

remind me if I forgot any

edit: almost forgot B17A

Fuck a turbo.. what a waste of cash. I'm currently waiting on my kit from Japan to do the VTEC conversion for my mustang. I'm just dreading having to locate a bottle of that synthetic VTEC fluid.

vtec is instantaneous jawdropping gforces.... i mean you better be strapped up real good... its like baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam and the 4 extra intake valves totally give you an afterburner effect...

you do relize that V-TEC was originally created to help with gas economy.. and a marketing tool to get people to buy it thinking it was some sort of special thing

you are not suppose to "feel" VTEC. its suppose to be a smooth transition. all it does is keep the powerband going. while on the low lobes, it helps with lower power and if you stayed on those lobes, up top would suck donkey nuts. so there is a higher lift one to help make power up top. if you "feel" VTEC kick in, something is wrong with your car. it should be a smooth transition

or if the car is super light or running nitrous the car will have a "kick" feeling and pull like a mudda fuka....but still....
