The "echo" problem with the DVD player only happens when you first play the disk. It doesn't come on at random while watching a movie.

Also, sometimes when you play a DVD there is an echo. I believe it is because the system defaults to the "MATRIX" sound setting, but I'm not sure. I just hit stop and then play again and it's in dolby 5.1 or DTS, whatever is the highest sound setting on the disc you are playing. This is a great system for an apartment or dorm room. An excellent 1st home theatre system.
I have almost the exact same system (maybe it IS the same), with the exact same 'echo' thing.... and I do the same thing to clear it.... hit stop then play again... LOL. Maybe it's a samsung thing...
The sounds on these things are pretty good. Works fine in my bedroom. someone could definitely use this for their bedroom or living room/apartment.
Free bump for ya.

thanks for the bump. i can't say i really ever looked into the problem much as just hitting stop and play is simple enough.
Yes, the tv is a projection, not flat panel. The title clearly states that. You can't hang this on a wall...

But you have it listed as a Grand Wega LCD Projection......But it can't be both projection and an LCD... it's either/or... LCD's ARE flat panels... projection are boxes. ;) :)
Nevertheless... nice TV....

the technology on sony's PROJECTION tvs is LCD. The flat panels you speak of create the image for Sony's Projection TV's.
From sony's site: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=11038977
"3LCD Chips
The 3LCD technology at the heart of Sony’s Grand WEGA™ televisions provide a bright picture, with high detail and natural color. These three key benefits are immediately apparent when viewing a Grand WEGA™ TV. You can expect to see an incredibly detailed picture with eye-popping colors. Sony uses three tiny LCD chips (0.73”) with a combined resolution of over 2.76 million pixels. The light from a high output UHP lamp shines into a filtering system that splits the beam into red, green, and blue light streams. Each color goes through its own LCD chip, which passes or blocks the light. The three beams are then instantaneously recombined and sent to the projection lens."
i was not implying that this tv was a flat panel, or "LCD TV". it is a projection tv that weighs about 55 pounds and is 13" thick. it uses LCD's to create the image.
