Ja Rule vs. Eminem
Since Eminem signed 50, this battle spilled over into his trailer. And lemme tell ya, as Ja found out the hard way, you do NOT wanna go up against Em. He’s got Dr. Dre, 50, G-Unit, D-12, The Game and a slew of other talented rapper on his side, plus the backing of White America. Plus, quite frankly, love him or hate him, any fool will tell you, he can out rap just about every human in the solar system. Ja calling out Em was kind of like Lenny Kravitz calling out Eddie Van Halen for a guitar playing contest. The result? Has anyone heard a peep out of Ja Rule since? Case closed.

--------------------------------

Eminem vs. Benzino and The Source
This is where things got interesting. First, Em destroys Ja, who is buddies with Ray Benzino, washed up rapper, successful club owner and part owner of acclaimed hip hop bible, The Source. So indirectly inspired to take on this white boy who dealt his pal such a fatal blow, Benzino gets The Source to do a series of articles bashing Eminem for killing hip hop by bringing in a white audience, accusing him of being a racist and bashing his music. They even went so far as to run a comic series depicting Benzino as the savior of rap and a beheaded Eminem as the slain enemy, followed by a slew of Em disses on mixtapes. All of this would seem impressive if Benzino wasn’t such a hack rapper, and his barbs seeming as lightweight as humanly possible when compared with the verbal ass-whoppin’ Em and his crew gave him over a series of diss tunes, culminating with “Monkey See Moneky Do,” “Do Rae Mi,” and “Bully” from the Straight From the Lab bootleg EP (dedicated entirely to destroying Benzino, Ja and Cannibus) and the scathing “Nail in the Coffin.” This battle resulted got so hot that XXL magazine jumped in and managed to side with Em’s camp, stuck ‘em all on the cover for a few issues, and managed to elevate themselves to direct competitors of The Source in the process.

--------------------------------------------

Esham vs. Eminem and D12
He shoulda learned his lessons from all the others who tried and died, but legendary Detroit acid-rapper Esham decided to callout Em and his boys in d-12 for not reppin’ the 8 Mile properly, and promptly got stomped the f**k out at the WARP tour a few years ago. It’s a drag because Esham was an early influence on Eminem and just about every other rapper out of the Motor City, but, ehy, if you mess with the bull you get the horns, right?

---------------------------------------

Royce Da 5’9 vs. Eminem
Then former D-Town buddy Royce Da 5’9 got into the mix, lobbing a few bombs in Em’s direction on his own albums, most notably on “Malcolm X.” No worries, Em squashed him good over a few freestyles and firmly removed him fro the “one-to-watch” category. Again, too bad, as Royce was/is a great MC.

Ok,ok lets admit it eminem has not "battled" any rapper thats decent at all honestly other than Royce...that statement just proved that c'mon Jarule, Benzino and some random nigga from detroit. C'mon dawg as much as i hate "em" he honestly destroyed thoes guys its like letting Micheal Johnson run at the special olympics. He just picked on them. Any rapper with a decent flow could have done that to them all....Benzino, Benzino Babs from mmaking of the band coulda took taht nigga out. My 0.02

No. Not any old rapper. But as someone else said, there's too many different styles of rap for Nas to be the best. He's certainly not the best at "crunk." He's certainly not the best at West Coast flavor. He may be a GOAT for his style of rap. I don't know. I don't listen to him. My point is the fact that if he can be successful at all styles of hiphop, then he can named GOAT. Later, QD.

quickdodge®

I don't mean I never have listened to him. I've just never got into his style as with any of the other rappers from the North. So, yes, my opinion does have something. Again, if I could hear his versatility, I might change my opinion, if he was good at it. Everything I have ever heard basically sounds the same. I'm not trying to bash your man, I just think a GOAT should be a GOAT of all rap styles. I actually don't think there is a GOAT of all rap styles. Here is a breakdown of my GOAT's:

West Coast = Ice Cube, WC, 2Pac
Down South = Goodie Mob, Outkast
Up North = Nas, Biggie

Pac wasnt all that on the mic.. but you gotta respect the man if not for his music then atleast for his movement... I liked the fact that he could spit some gangsta shit like gangsta party & california love and then turn around and hit us with unconditional love & changes.... Furthermore, he was a pretty good actor...
Not many other rappers at the time would have been able to carry the role of Bishop in the movie Juice like Pac did...

Biggie's rhymes were always vivid and he made you feel like you were right there witnessing first hand what he was rhyming about.... Although, Biggie too was way over rated... Bottom Line: Biggie was way more lyrical and the better artist.... BUT ON SOME REAL TALK: PAC RIPPED BIG WHEN THEY WERE BEEFING

damn straight, and Pac ripped the mic up, without a doubt. I watched him perform at house of Blues out in LA, one of his last few shows... "hit 'em up" he fuckin lit the place up. never had that feling in any other concert/performance. a person that reminds me of him a lot is Game, not w/ lyrical content at all, but in the delivery and onstage presence. 'Pac sounded the same onstage as he did on the CD. Game is the same way.

I was a 2pac fan until he got on deathrow then he started putting out mtv shit. do not get me worng ambitionz, hit em up, hail mary i loved the beats. me against the world was one of the greatest rap albums of all time. 2pac acting skills came from his highschool days when he went to a school for performing arts with jada pinkett-smith. so acting was always in his blood or atleast in his heart.

biggie is considered one of the greatest because he brought the east coast back which in my opinion is bullshit. he put ny on the map in terms of mtv rotation and sales. but there was wutang, tribe, nas, redman, das efx, gangstar, who were all holding the eastcoast down. mtv just wasn't feeling them at the time until biggie came along.

comparing pac and big is like comparing jay-z and nas both incredible rappers just different lyrical content. biggie you put on at a house party, pac you put on when you were in the car and you needed to think some shit through.

i agree with you the wc had minor representation until death row took over in 92-93. i liked some people before snoop came out from the west coast although most of my friends in ny wasn't trying to hear the d.o.c., king tee, the liks, heiroglyphics(sp?), or nwa at first. i remember coming home from college and everyone in brooklyn was playing the chronic album i was shocked. then when snoop came and the above the rim soundtrack came out it was official they had east coast presence. that is all i was saying but then again this is my .02. mtv raps didn't need to play snoop and dre they got rotation on other shows. erick sermon would only be on mtv raps, but snoop would be on trl or whatever show they used to have like it.

^^^ Lolol. I feel ya on that. When MTV Raps first came out, it was nothing but Rakim and Eric B., EPMD, BDP, Kool Moe Dee, and all them. Don't get me wrong cause I still listen to the shit of those characters, but it was rare to catch an NWA or King Tee track on video. Later, QD>

dre > Eminem
Em > 50
obie trice = eminem
jay z >< eminem
it really depends on who goes first and what is said by who. Cause em could go first and that automatically gives whoever the advantage

I'm not mad, just wondering what the basis of your comment was. Just because some people didn't mention the folks that you think are the best. Maybe they don't agree with you so they didn't put their names up. Doesn't mean they don't know. Later, QD.
