Yeah I had never even thought about it but then heard someone with tinted tails explain the law. So they're legal.

true?Don't listen to any of these guys. It's true. Your brake lights are dimmer which they can use against you in a court of law. I am a Fulton county national Sheriff.

not always true. mine are BLACK when the lights are off from a distance, but when you're close they're as bright as stock and red.

they look cool but sooner or later you can have problems with them...I got rear ended a year ago with mine and I know for a fact even with the brakes on they were dim as hell in the daytime...my accident happenned in the afternoon...I relied on my third brake light to let peeps know for sure when I was braking...legally by law you aren't allowed to alter or tamper with your brake lights or reflectors front or back unless they are OEM certified...I had a Gwinnett police officer stop me one day and tell me the lights weren't legal...most cops don't care but you can be busted for it...kind of like the illegal window tint most drive around with...
