Place that built it is in Cumming.

may i ask how he ruined a car that is slow.. all they did was put some nice rims, a removeable wing, and a great powerplant.

i'd love that car.

it's up there with an Ariel atom.

I love the exterior (minus the wing). Not a fan of the swap, or most of the interior.

Shit, that swap is one of the most popular in the UK right now. Power to wieght ratio FTW!!!!!!!

And that better how? BMW didn't buy Mini until the 90's. So putting in a German engine in to a 1972 British car is less offensive than a Japanese motor because.....:screwy:

B16B is a great engine.

yea, if you are trying to spend a wad of cash on a motor with no torque . if you want a high revving motor with no torque you would just buy a regular b16a and save yourself 2 grand...then boost it and make all the power you need.

i dont doubt its a reliable motor, or the fact that it is someone quick in a mini. but seriously its not that great of a motor.

Since when is TQ the only measure of a motor? There is REASON why that B16B is in that car if you know why it was built. P72 block (same as GSR, ITR), that car will spend 90% of it's life at 80%+ throttle plus on the road courses. For what that car is designed for - it's the perfect combiation. 2g authentic Mini coppers weighs nothing - anything less than 2300lbs and TQ is damn near negligent after the lauch (road course car, remember - not drag). Not to mention - B16B - factory LSD. This guy did not just "stumble" on the B16B - it was a calculated build.

now your putting words in my mouth...i never said tq was the only measure of a motor. however since tq is what gets you going it happens to be very important. and no i did not know why it was built nor did i care....infact if it was built for anything besides a conversation peice for some rich asshole it was a waste of money. you dont have to have a b16b to get lsd...just buy a lsd or buy an lsd trans. and i never said he stumbled on it.....im sure they put it in there for a reason.....but their reasoning sucks..and they calculated a shitty build. while tq may not matter once you are already hauling ass in the course imagine the advantage of having torque when getting off turns....all of a sudden a motor that produces more torque is a pretty good idea. you want a kick ass car....stuff a super charged k20 or k24 in that thing....that will be so much closer to ariel atom that this junk pile ever thought about being. im not argueing the useability of this purpose built car...but rather the opinion that its a bad ass car.

while that teaser vid in interesting it still proves nothing except the fact that the car is so loose in the rear that it cant possibly perform as well as needed to be competitive. at the end of the vid the dude grabs the brakes hard and lifts the whole damn rear off the ground..thats not worth a shit....and around the cones the ass end is just sliding around.....hit a turn really fast witha car that acts liek that and your done.....as i was watching this all i could think about was the little datsun 510 i used to drive that no matter how fast you were going you could not lose the ass end of it......that car weighed nothing.....i would be scared shitless to take my civic into a sharp turn at 60 but uin the 510 i wouldnt ever think about it..this is not hte case with that car in the vid...that looks very unsafe. so i still stick with my opinion....keep in mind its just an opinion....that this car is not the greatest thing since sliced bread...infact i find it to be rather worthless unless you are just going to try to impress ppl at a varsity meet

No one said it was the greatest car ever..

the transmission of the b16b is what allows it to keep power off the turns. tight gearing and LSD help the 185 hp 117tq motor do its job.

the "teaser" video was a b16a mini cooper

You guys are all arguing about the torque and what engine and tranny is there and better but you are all missing the overall point. Some idiot put a Honda engine in a goddamn car that is NOT a Honda. Later, QD.
