For those of you who would like to know...

It was a stock flywheel with a stock gtr clutch plate in a rb20.
and the hole is in the GTR hood he had on it.

Also the guy ripped chunks off the block from it and the engine is a complete write off.

The consensus is that this was caused by a broken engine mount. The torque then is applied to the gearbox case that lets go and takes the clutch and flywheel with it.

Nahh... he has a GTS not a GTR. It was probably a good race for him. lol.

The GTS is to the GTR what the Neon SE is to Chad's STR4.

Either way, it does suck quite a bit for him. Belive it or not however, its not as expensive to fix as you would think. The RB20 motors are cheap as dirt.

Hes lucky that the engine /tranny is mounted like that. If it was a FWD (and the engine mounted sideways), those chunks would have been coming thru the firewall and into the cabin.
