I was at Barber Motorsports, chillin with my dad. There was a big truck and 3 porsches that said APR all over them. I was talkin to the guys and telling em about how I almost went with giac, but the group buy fell appart. Well, the guy musta felt sorry for me cuz I just got 93 octane, stock, and security lockout ($821.82 with the 10% off from my audi club membership at j3 motorsports) for...
$599.
Yep.
I'm happy :->
Now I need a new diverter valve tho, good thing it's a warranty item!

it's cool. it let me buy those wheels/tires instead.
And honestly, I don't think it matters if you go GIAC or APR. The 2.0T just comes alive when it's flashed, and it is TOTALLY worth it! :->

Can I try your car sometime to see the difference in flashed vs unflashed. Im debating whether to keep mine or not after the lease is up.

Most shops thats what they charge for the most part.... I seriously see very little hookup.. Not trying to rain on your parade... But I hate to hear when shops pull stunts like that.
And then it was APR.. lol... Thats for soft drivers... GIAC is where the power is at...
APR is for cheerleaders and popularity... .. GIAC is for the underdog who makes power :D

Yeah... you need a turbo for those ecu tuners to really offer any substantial benefits.
APR doesn't have any ecu mods for that car.

If you find a better deal on apr or giac, I'd say get it!
I asked around, and I don't know anyone who has beaten the price I got for apr. The giac group buy here was going to cost more, by a lot.
As for which one is better, I have no idea. But, this was an interesting read:

It's the closest thing I've seen to a fair comparison between the ecu tuners. About the only thing better this guy could of done was to have another a4 that was left in stock and dynoed on that same dyno each day they ran tests. That way you could have a better idea of how much variance the weather had on hp.
Still, it's nice to see how much power you gain from an ecu mod, and those were all the 91 octane programs, I've got the 93 :->
