wrong....based off the Cayman which is the 987 chassis.

yea I thought the chassis lines were similar, but I could not figure out why it would cost 10 times as much as the cayman if it was based on the cayman chassis.... I guess the extra $460000 is in the engine and body work...

I wonder how the wheelbase is so much longer on this car though. The cayman is 2415mm long, and this one is 2625, 210mm longer. thats about 9 inches or so.

Road and Track? That top speed is an estimate of the twin turbo version, not the N/A.

you can stretch a wheelbase

not withough extensive reengineering. This car may have started from the cayman design, but now it is a completely different car. it has a wider track, longer wheelbase, and the roof is lower. the only thing cayman about it is the tail lights. the front end looks to be from a 997.

Wrong. The front is a Porsche 997 from the A pillar forward. The entire backhalf is completely Ruf built and fabricated. They were going to build the car from the ground up but it proved to be too expensive. Hence the longer wheelbase and width.

:rly: Thats what RUF does to cars and i know the front end is from a 997. I can put a 997 front on my car cuz putting that on my car would be like putting an SI front on a 97 EK

The rear end is not from the Cayman. I think the tails are Cayman but the structure underneath the carbon fiber panels are not.

The rear end is Ruf's own.
