Hey whats up ef people, well as some of you may know i am having problems with my car but as soon as i get it fixed i have to go tune it, well i have to decide who is gonna tune it and how much psi, and im preety sure some of you know alot about this, well the bottom end is a d16z6 with low compression rods and pistons, acl bearings, the head is a vtec d15b, valves and retainers, i have a aem fuel rain, fuel pressure regulator, 550 cc injectors, walbro pump, pr3 ecu, t25 tubo, and a vafc, do u know what i could push it to on psi and around how much hp would it make once i tune it???? thanks...

i wouldn't push it at all until you tune it.

and for tuning i'd go with scottydb411, just contact him here on this board or at www.digitalboxtuning.com

he's local and does a lot of work at mainstream.

12 psi would be fun but safe.

but 16 would be powerful without being harmful (since u have pistons and rods) but i wouldnt try higher than that, or do 16 much (weekends)

1: blew up block @ 18 psi
2:was given car with broken tps sensor (ran like shit, then wouldnt run at all)
3: turbo go boom.

3 different times. i think i need to scrap the d series alltogether

damn man that sucks, i think mine is worse, i blew a boosted zc on a pull 7 months ago, and since then i been building this motor, now that its on, it wont run..........

jajaja its funny, we have the same setup and we basically have spent the same amount of money on it, and both of our cars are still fucked up, lol

So the ZC-Turbo you pulled me on N/A is blown now huh? It was quick while it lasted even though it was untuned. It had to be making 200 WHP or so HUH? With a small turbo, cause I remember you'd either stop pulling top end and you'd just stay 1-2 cars ahead of me .. Ah the good days, good racing on the streets, no more street racing for me though :(

Hey Gsrcrx, as far as your setup goes, I would think about getting rid of the Vafc and get a chipped ecu or convert to OBD1. It is hard to run that big of an injector on a piggyback. Also, if you are running a T25 then it depends on the specs of the turbo as to how much boost you can run. I would also get a 3 bar map so the ecu can see the correct boost since the stock map can only go up to about 12psi.

As far as Halfwits, the first block was machined too tight and I did not double check what the machine shop did. I will admit that I trusted their work and did not check the piston to wall clearance. You could see the scaring on the sides of the pistons from them touching the cylinder walls. We will be putting his back together this week. We changed the design of his manifold to see if we could get some more power out of it.

We will also be finishing the tuning on another D16z6 this week that already made 300whp on just 13psi. This one was done by a different machine shop.

Yeah you're right .. I don't or at least try not to race on the streets anymore, I haven't in a long time
