need some help with installing a program

im trying to install microsoft professional plus 2007, and when i get towards the end of the installation it says that it cannot open the registry key.

i did a system restore to a few weeks ago because i have put a few new programs on my laptop. is there anyway i can get this installed without having to do a complete clean a restart of my laptop.

any help is apprecaited.

error 1402. setup cannot open the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\microsoft\internet explorer\main\featurecontrol\FEATURE_RESTRICT_ACTI VEXINSTALL.

i guess right now i need a way to use my system restore to take my laptop back to day 1, but it wont let me restore past about a month.

is there a way to use the disk cleanup to help my situation?

Take it back to day one? Use a restore disc.

If it can't open it, that might mean it isn't there in the first place, so try creating the key in your registry.
