So I just bought a 1990 24Gay...lol and the sohc is shit. Just like every other 240 owner I want to have a SR20DET dropped in it. I am looking for a pretty local shop (somewhere within 50miles of Athens) that can get the motor and all the necessary parts to do the swap with out me having to do anything except bring the car. This is due to me being lazy as hell when I get home from work.
Also has anyone had their car worked on at Import Experts in Brasleton?

Any help will be appreciated and reps will be given.

thanks

OOR.

do it yourself man its easy. buy the heater hoses already modded to fit LHD...send the wiring out , swap the motor in...

you could do the heater hoses yourself, just a matter of re routing them with an elbow...

Tophat, Mainstream Batlground (No Specific Order)

thats where id take em. but then again, ive never been to either, but based on their overall satisfaction level, the all seem to be good enough, it is a pretty simple swap.

the do-it-yourself is more rewarding. You learn more about your car, you have more pride in your car. it may take a little longer, but you just take your time and do it right. :)

I rebuilt my motor. Did all the pistons, bearing, rods, everything and it's more gratifying (sp) knowing that i put the motor back together.

(not trying to take work away from any shop ^^) just a suggestion.

^^^I definitely agree. When I bought my 240, I took it to a shop and asked that they let me part of the process just handing them tools and shit. It comes in handy when something happens and you know what to do. Plus, it helps out the shop and at least they know what they are doing....

I know John, the owner at Import Experts. He ported and polished my brother's Si head and put a GSR tranny in it. I was just wondering how good of work they do with Sr swaps. Thanks

Yep, can't get rb parts at a Nissan dealership. It is a shame because the RB is a better motor in my opinion. But the 2jz is badass as well.

no problem buddy...but i assure you that you won't get a better result from another shop...if you get a chance go to there shop and look at there Maxxis / BatlGround Engineering drift 240's...i'm sure they will be at the dg event at turner so go check everyones work out there...all shops will have cars there for the most part
