why dont they hold up?? i have to say a piston motor would never ever hold up the way i drive my 7. everyone assume's that rotarys are junk or they dont hold up but there like any car. they require maintance. a little more than piston cars but they can last for a long as pistons do. a guy rolled over 295,000 mile (factory motor no rebuilds) on an rx7 fourm im a member of and its still going to my knowledge

the 13b-rew are a little different than your N/A 13b. I have heard the 13b-rew's 3 peice apex seals are their downfall. Most last about 70k miles.

why dont they hold up??

That's what I was wondering. From what I understand, it's almost impossible to blow one up. Later, QD.

I have a friend who has a few rx7's and he tells me constantly how they are crap after about 70K.. Which I have heard from alot of people.. I had considered this car before I decided on a Mkiv cause of all the crap I have heard about them...

The problem with those cars is just that they don't have the cooling capacity that turbos demand. That makes them really sensitive to heat, unfortunately. Beautiful and awesome sounding cars, though.

I've always loved the car, it looks freaking sick....styling was well beyond it's time because even at a 11 year old car it still looks very modern.

I've ran across a few that have been for sale and I've just never jumped on it, because of some horror stories I have heard and read about the car.

my buddy Vu bought a 1995 Silver RX7, and dropped some money into it and it was constantly needing to be tuned or adjusted from little gremlins that would just pop up

I gotta find it, but I have a Road & Track that lists the problems that are commonly found on them....one of the editors even said that if you are not a ASE mechanic you are gonna become good friends with a Mazada mechanic very quickly.

now, I know no car is perfect.....I still love the car, but I've always been able to steer clear, I guess once I graduate and have some more money I can pick one up and then see for myself.
