ive had my Alpine type Rs for a while now but the rings have been worn away and a small hole has emerged due to them rubbing up against something so i havent been putting a lot of power through them, now i have a new box and i want to turn up the bass some more. My question is, how do i fix the little hole in my sub? just put some silicone over it? get a guy to fix it? buy a new sub? Im just afraid that the power i put through the sub will rip it apart.

get a new sub. Type R's are not expensive enough to justify fixing.

you should replace it.you might be able to send it in to the company and pay a little less for them to fix it. try and fix it yourself, if it dont work then it dont work.

use a 5 minute epoxy from the inside of the sub if you can get to the surround where the hole is or just run a thin layer over the hole where it is let it dry for about 10 hours to fully cure you can use walmart to get the glue
