I keep seeing everybody posting these nice pics of the places they go and their cars and I've had enough already. I need to buy a digital camera

What do you guys suggest for a first timer like me to get? Do I really need 10 megapixels??

up to your shooting preferece/ 10 is now almost standard. Something simple non complicated is a good start.

Megapixels mean everything to an amateur. (More Megapixels=the bigger my camera's penis is)

If you dont plan on printing huge photos, then 4-6 megapixels would be fine.

so your camera must have a pretty big penis then... judging from the fact that your avatar is a Camera, and I dont think its a 4-6 megapixel camera

theres more to quality photos than printing them out

what if I want a 2400 X 1800 wallpaper

I have a 5.1 MP Fuji Finepix Z1, it's no D-SLR, but for my little piddling, it's great, quality is decent, zoom is ok, etc. They can be had relatively inexpensively ($200 or less), too
