after the tb, bird flu scare, and along with the threat of terroism have any of you thought of what would happen if something like this went down ? my mom whos a teacher was just telling me about a meeting they had with some fed explaining that it would be smart to have food and water for two weeks stored up. does anybody on ia think about this and do any of yall think its worth the trouble ? i just thought this would make an interesting thread, what do yall think ?

^^^campanile at tech doesn't count as a "lake", and there aren't any fish in there :goodjob:

lol thats like people clearing every store of bread for 2" of snow...seems pointless to me honestly if it comes down to that just go hunt something down to eat. It wont be that bad the worse part will be all the hypocondriacs (doubt thats spelled right).

When I was researching handguns I came across a site dedicated to armageddon preparedness that had reviews for all sorts of shit from guns to trucks to atvs, canteins, m.r.e's, tents, flash lites, everything you would need. Even directions for a disaster survival kit. There were even people on there that had OLD trucks restored to working order with carbed engine so if a nuke went off the E.M.P would not effect the vehicle. I looked at the site for hours but I did not bookmark it.

everyone thinks its stupid to worry about it now, but hindsight is 20/20.

worrying is like a rocking chair, it passes the time but it doesn't get u anywhere.

But getting the basic essentials now, so that you are prepared does... or you could just rely on the U.S. government to keep you safe from any possible threat that could come up :goodjob: I'm sure they'd be going door to door handing out food and water to everyone in such a situation.

We always have these boxes packed with canned food, flashlights, battereies, water, blankets...etc...enough for a couple days...in our basement...just in case. It's not so much about terrorism, but where we used to live there were tornadoes all teh damn time...and it just kinda stuck that you should always be prepared.

ok...let's revisit what you said here:

"Wow I bet you and your mom freaked out every time that crappy terror alert system changed colors."

color of skin typically indicates race...

is 2+2 totaling 4 for you yet? :D

I read something that stuck with me. If the government thinks a nuke is going to be set off in the country they will shut down all cell phones incase they are planning on using one to set it off. So if you see weird shit, have a weird feeling and look down to see your cell phone have no service when it should. Start heading NW ASAP.
