Well she missed her period by a month so we went to wal mart and got a pregnancy test and right when she took it two lines came up. At first I was scared but now I am excited. She talked to her mom about it last night and she said we can move to port charolette, florida with her and I can get a job with her step dad startin out at like 18 an hour. I am excited and goin to do everything and anything I can.

I just don't know how I am goin to tell my mom. She is real religous. Anyone else ever had to tell your parents that? I am 19 about to be 20.

Well she had to go through it twice with my sister. She got pregnant with her first one when she was 18. Had her second one at like 21. Then her third one she was finally married and was like 24 or 25.

Congrats man, I know it wasn't planned but children are awesome. I had to tell my parents that me and my g/f were pregnant when I was 16. She was born when I was 17. I've been married for three years now, and have a beautiful 2 1/2 old daughter. Its alot of work, but well worth it, I couldn't imagine life without either of them :goodjob:

Man....you're way too young. I'd get an abortion. If you're the kind of guy who just wants to end up in some kinda dead-end job in a stupid house with a mortgage and a bunch of kids, alright. But you've basically just screwed yourself out of your college years and the whole fun social scene in your early 20's.

Unless I was like 25 or older I'd pressure the girl to get an abortion. Some things just gotta wait. Of course, I always strap my shit so there's no worries.

i was in the same boat, moms real religious, but i was 20 and self sufficient, and my girlfriend (now my wife) had just graduated highschool 3 months prior to finding out, so wasn't much she could say...congrats, be prepared to lose every friend you have, and not to be able to buy a damn thing for close to 4-5 years....its hard when youre that young, but doable, youre gonna get looks from the older people, which i thought was the funny part, and dont jump to anything, if you have a job now, dont quit and look for something better, stay put, it can be overwhelming but take it a day at a time...good luck

Don't listen to everyone talking about abortions and punching/kicking in the stomach. You are doing the right thing, don't let anyone tell you you're stupid for doing so. I was 20 and my girl was 18 when we found out she was pregnant. I was still able to get a good job, wasnt going to school anyway, but my girl has gone to college for 2 yrs since the baby was born and she'll go until she graduates. The baby isnt going to ruin your future. Or your social life. All of our friends are very supportive. Sure you wont be able to go out and drink every night or even every weekend, but who needs to be doing that anyway? Our daughter goes with us, when we go out to eat and everyone loves her. Keep your head up, and just tell your mom. She may yell, scream, cuss, ask you what you were thinking and if you know what causes that, but she will get over it, and look forward to being a g-ma

Wow, having a kid at age 20. At 20, I was sitting in classes working my way through college. I couldn't even imagine.

Do you have a degree? Any career plans? Goals? Do you own a house?

From the financial aspect, this is not going to be an easy thing to do... What does *she* do for a living?

Agreed.

At 20 I was in college, working about 30 hours a week and having a great time. Bars, sleeping late, parties, all while trying my best to do good in school. It wasn't easy but certainly worth it.

I could not imagine having a kid at that age. I was nowhere near responsible. Bills were paid and everything but I was far too immature to raise someone else.

Even now... I'm 29 and not ready. I am pretty sure I want one but not any time soon.

Good luck to you though. And try to make a good future for him/her and make some goals for yourself. I really hate to see people give in and forget about the things they wanted to accomplish in life (ex: my 27 year old cousin who still lives with her parents, barely holds down a job and has a 4 year old.... seriously... wtf). It is completely possible to raise a child, get an education and succeed in life... not easy but very possible.

If you love her...and you really want to be with her forever...then that is super...but you will in fact have her in your life forever if you want to be a part of this kid's life. hey, i got a few things to say to you for this topic....

congrats on the newlyfound blessing. your a good man for standing up for what you did and not runnin on her like alot of other men. major props.
about the autobody school... im actually in lanier tech for autobody (EXACTILY for what you said you wanted to do) and yes, its great to have that diploma that says you did it. i have worked in bodyshops for about 5 months now, and i have learned more in the shop than i have at school in almost 2 years. if you want to learn how to do autobody, go ahead and get yourself a possisition at a shop now doing tape or something just to get your foot in the door. it might suck, but no one ever starts at the top. (Sprayglo Duluth is hiring rite now fyi) BUT STILL GO TO SCHOOL. its gonna get you farther than not having somethign to back you up on. good luck with everything and hope that it all works out.

I am 19 about to be 20.

ill talk to your mom for you.

Just a few tips bro...
1. Sell whatever you drive and get the most gas economic car you can get.
2. Start a savings fund so that when the kid does come you have some stored away money.
3. Dont eat out as much/drive as much etc. start saving even the littlest amounts of money you can.
4. After saving a little money start buying a few bonds here and there and keep doing that so that when your child gets older or if you need some money to help fund you have a little tucked away. Kind of an emergency/college/future plan, if you will.

Mostly I would just suggest trying to keep a healthy relationship with your GF.

And one more thing. I would give your mom a card that says congradulations Grandma on it. Or something around that. But only after your sure.

I just don't know how I am goin to tell my mom. She is real religous. Anyone else ever had to tell your parents that? I am 19 about to be 20.

I was 21 when I got pregnant. My parents are very religious too. I just went in and told my mom that I had some very important news for her, told her she was going to be a grandmother (again) and that I didn't want her to worry, that I was excited. She knew I never wanted children, and I had a terrible pregnancy (complications and really sick), but having my son is the best thing that's ever happened to me, it changes your life in the best ways - you actually feel like your life is worth something (more so than before) and in someone's eyes, you are a hero, like God. It's the most amazing love you'll ever experience and I wish you the best of luck. Take this advice though - do NOT get married just because of a baby, no matter what pressures people may put on you, or how you think people will think of you. No one else is living your life for you and no one will make your life easier. If you get married, be sure it's because she is the person you truely want to be with, and you love - and with you being so young, I wouldn't recommend marriage, you've still got a lot of changing to do! Good luck!

Whoever said she gets bitchy and crazy, it is very true! That's part of the reason I left my ex - I was bitchy all the time and he made me crazy - I'm a lot better now that I don't have to deal with his shit. Just be responsible and helpful and you will be okay!

Pushing the girl down the stairs, or shaking her violently usually works for me. If all else fails, a straightened close hanger and a vacuum cleaner work well for abortions.
