Im bored, and I though that I would start a "here's my build thread". So........

I had a pretty nice Hatch/gsr setup that tragically lasted a little more that a flash........................................:(

BUT NOT TO WORRY!!! I have been contenplating for a while which direction I would go: B20/vtec, or ls/vtec, or gsr, or boost, and I decided to build a poor man's type r.

So far, the only thing that has been done is a complete teardown of the front end of my car. We just got the engine and tranny out, and now, we've taken them apart and the bottom end is off to the shop tommorow.

Before:

GSR tranny sitting in the garage

My plans are to run a B16 head with ITR cams, AEM adjustable cam gears, aftermarket fuel rail, prelude injectors or 310cc injectors, and a GSR Block with oversized pr3 pistons, gsr rods, and acl race bearings. ** I'm probably going to get a type r fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.

Thanks for looking... any suggestions and comments are welcome.

What size pistons? You can put the K20a2 pistons on the b-series connecting rods for a lil fun ;)

FYI: Type R, GSR, LS fuel pumps are all the same after '96.

Good luck on the build. May want to do a wire tuck while you're tearing it apart. Even if it is only a mild job.

Thanks guys...

Now that you all mention it, I do want to do a wire tuck, but I think i'll need some help with that, cause I'm not really sure what needs to be done. I'll do some research.

2nd.

I got the b16 head in late last night, and on sunday it will be sent out to get a port & polish. I'm going to have to sell my skunk2 manifold thats for a gsr, and buy another aftermarket manifold for the b16 because that stock intake is not going to cut it.

...it'll get where it needs to go...:ninja:

I just took out the entire A/C unit, and the engine bay already looks 10 times better.

P.S. The a/c works, so I think i'll sell it!

UPDATE!

First, I took of the radiator. That's about where I started my psudo-wire tuck. I did the right, front corner first. Basically I poped out the wire holders from the chassis and ran it under the wheel well. I did the same thing on the left side, but it was a little more tricky being that I had to run the horn wires with it.
After that, I really couldn't think of anything else to do beside re-route that vacuum hose in the back, under the thing-a-ma-jig. (i'll explain later)

Here is the before and after thing again:

After

I'm really doing this by myself, so if anyone has any techniques or ideas, just shoot me a post. I also removed the battery, but I don't know if I feel like extending the wires to the trunk. I will be taking the alarm out of the bay, aswell as that spare amp wire.

Well, I sen't the blcok and the head to be built.

The block is getting a hone job, and then assembled with new pistons and rings, new rod & main bearings, and the stock gsr rods and crank.

The head is getting a match port and polish, new valve seals, and the ITR cams are getting thrown in. It will all be bolted down with arp gsr head studs. (safety first, kids) :goodjob:......

But basically, all i'm doing right now is waiting........................................... .....
