What up peoples????

Well, we just got back from taking a few days in the sun and surf with our partners in crime....Arash and Patrycja. ;)

We decided to take a few days....WITHOUT THE KIDS!!!! :bannana: ...and head down to the neareast place with some sand and nakid....I mean....people... :D ....to hang out and take a load off.

Well, here's my pictoral report from this weekend:

We left bright and early on Friday morning, in the rental 07 Charger (more about this POS in a little bit....), and headed out of Dodge (no pun intended) as fast as the POS V6 in that rental could go. We made good time. We made it into PCB in 4hrs30 mins....and we could've made better time had we NOT had to stop 1500 times for my dear wife JOAN for her to freaking PEE..... :screwy:

We also had pretty people, but I can't post those until I get the "OK" from the Sgt.... :no: (maybe later...... :yes: )

Either way, we found out several things:
1. If you miss a spot with the sunblock.....you will easily find it later because it glows a nice shade of RED......LOL.
2. A 2007 Dodge Charger with a POS V6 has the quickness of a school bus. I'm not used to having to PLAN AHEAD for a steep downhill section of the road BEFORE you can pass somebody......that sucked major donkey balls. Once it got up enough steam it was passable, but until then.....sheech.....it's slower than molasses rolling up hill.... :2up: :rant:
3. A pitcher of anything alcoholic doesn't last quite as long as you'd like it to when you're on vacation. :gulp:
4. 2 lane roads in Alabama suck. :2up:
5. 2 lane roads anywhere suck, just not as bad as they do in Alabama.
6. Running in the sand, is a good work out....when you're 20something.
7. Running in the sand sucks....when you're 30something..... :lookround:
8. Going on vacation with good friends is better than just about anything else, except :idb: of course......well, I take that back.....Going on vacation with good friends AND......well...... :rolleyewistle:

I was there this weekend as well with the wife and some friends. The weather was perfect and I havn't had that much fun in a while. We saw an eight to ten food shark when we went deep sea fishing. Made me think twice about swimming plus it was a little cool and windy sunday afternoon anyway.

Travis: There are some run down places, but I did notice that there is a ton of new development down there. There is this one place over near Ripley's that I was like :eek: . Three HUGE buildings being added to an already existing HUGE building. Probably 3000 rooms atleast. The big LED sign out front said something about shopping stores and all kinds of things were going to be coming in there. It looked like a massive mega resort was going to be finished w/i the next year or so. Very impressive. I also noticed a few older Hotel/Motels right on the water that were being demolished, probably to make way for newer ones. I'd not been down to PCB in ages, since I was a teenager. I was actually impressed with the number of possible places to stay that looked very nice actually. I wouldn't mind staying in many of the places we saw.

Lila: Thanks, and yes it was. We even took a 2 hr Jetski ride where we even got to see dolphins like 5 ft away from our skis, went to shell island, and generally ate a ton of sea water (it was rough out there). :goodjob:

Serious? Well, you would've liked it this weekend. It was breezy, and althought the water was freaking cold and not really surfing like the water was rather choppy. I wanted to do some boogie boarding, but the damn water was just way too cold for that. I got in a few times, but only after getting really really hot, and even then I only lasted a few minutes before my voice got rather high pitched..... :ninja:

theyre nice, we stay there every 4th year....me and my wife own a time share at casa blanca which is on the other side of holiday inn and we have to end up getting a room at ocean towers on the leap years, we stayed across the street at the golf resort place year before last due to the hurricanes, wont be going this year though....taking a nice long cruise in january instead

theyre nice, each section of villas has its own private pool, plus most of the 1st level ones have grassy areas w/ a patio that you can sit around and shoot the shit while not having to be bothered with much, which as i am getting older i appreciate, plus its not right on the strip, for the most part, so hearing people blowing horns and screaming at 2-3 in the morning when you need some sleep isnt a problem

i still like casa blanca the most out of all the places we've stayed, theyre not as nice as ocean towers, but theres always a parking lot guard watching your shit (i had a trailer out front, and never used my lock on my bike last year and didnt have once ounce of trouble) private pool, hot tub, and excercise equipment, and youre right on the beach, plus its at a good point on the strip, seems to be in the middle of it basically, and with time share you get to know most everyone is there


p.s. did you eat over at chicago dawgs across the street? i cant get enough of that place when im down there....well that and coyote ugly, they fix some strong ass drinks

Eu contraire (fake French accent) my friend.....you can't have COOLERS at the pool. We solved that riddle by taking our cooler just past the guard guy at the sand going TO the beach. There must have been 10 coolers lined up side-by-side there. We'd just walk over, get our drink out, walk back to the chair. They had no problems as long as you didn't bring the COOLER up there. So we just had it close enough by to where we didn't have to walk up to our room to get a refill.... ;)
