Me and my gf decided to head up the mountains todays.. we drove up Helen and through hiawasee... and that place is like a ghost town..

actually once you pass helen, is nothing up there...

I come from a town like that, it is boring as fuck. There was like 1 black guy at my school. So it was pretty much all hicks.

The hicks/rednecks from the country in the north are worse than the ones down here. Since there are no black people up there they just spout out racist shit in public.....all the time. And they all have southern accents. They were born and raised in the north but talk like they are form Alabama. I will never understand it.

I heard two women talking in a grocery store on a sunday afternoon about black people on tv. I was walking by and heard one of them say nigger so I had to stop and listen.

The woman said "Can you believe all the niggers on tv acting like normal people. They don't fool me, I know what they are like. I caught little Billy (I don't rememeber the kids name) watching the news the other day and there was a nigger on there, ON THE NEWS!" She went on and on slowly browsing and talking about how they should send all the niggers back to Africa. I wanted to throw a gallon of milk at her.

That is how stupid the people in small towns like that are, and how out of touch with reality they are. I have hundreds of stories about shit like that. I am so glad I am out of that town. All there is to do in small towns is sit around, drink, and hate things. No wonder I smoke so much pot when I lived there.

On my way to Manchester, TN for Bonnaroo last year I stopped off the highway at a McDonald's and everyone in there was white, it was a little strange, besides the fact they kept staring at me because my hair is long. (I assumed)

haha i went to college in that town (Young Harris). And you are right, there is nothing to do at all. Luckally my roommate's parents had a lakehouse on Chatuge near the school so we spent a lot of time on the lake wakeboarding.


Edit: oh by the way, go to the top of Bell mountain while you are up there f you have time. It is gorgeous.
