Where can I get a .5 or a 1 farad capacitor? What are some good brands that I should look into? What's the price range on them?

A cap that small is not going to make a noticeable difference for you at all bud.
Not trying to kill anyone's deal here at all, just stating the facts fellas.

Cool, Thanks for your help, Jamie. I only have a 12w3v2, and a small Alpine amp. But my lights dim, so I think I need a cap.

Not going against Jaime's post but yea, a 1 farad cap will work well for your set up.
As Jaime already stated, the .5 is a waste.

I had 2 planet audio 12's (hey, they were free...) with a JL 500/1 amp and 3 MTX 10's with a power acustic 520 amp in my ext. cab tacoma and my lights were dimming like a son-of-a-bitch. I got a street wires 1fared cap from a friend for 25 bucks and it mostly straightened it out. I dont see why it wouldnt work for you.

if this is at all still applicable, I looked everything up for you. Simple answer, Yes 1 farad should cover it. Call me if you actually want the technical answer.
I'm sure it'll keep your headlights from dimming but if you go above 88mph you'll travel through time. BE CAREFUL!!
