I wanna do a project like a slideshow/ movie sort of thing with pictures and music.. but i dont know what program to use other than microsoft powerpoint.. anyone have any ideas?

You can do it with the software that comes on XP home standard, Called movie maker.... I just made a slide show with pics of my car and music with all kinds of effects

No problem, I know its a good program, I figured it out in just a few minutes, kinda takes a minute to figure out but once you do, you can even add moving titles and all kinds of neat shit to it

you can also use macromedia flash...
