" First, there is a code orange smog alert, that means people with breathing or heart related problems should avoid being outdoors for prolonged periods today. Second, Smoke from the south Georgia fires is moving into north Georiga this morning. It is causing a haze, and smokey smell."

"The smoke was pushed into our area by light southeast winds at the surface and aloft. The smoke filled air is trapped at the surface this morning. However, later today an east wind will pick up, and that will help to clean out the smoke. Conditions will improve later this afternoon."

I went outside and smelled smoke as if I were right at a fire. It's thick. Later, QD.

I'm right under the 75/85 split for work, and it wasn't too bad coming down 285. Once I got to 166, it was a completely different story. I couldn't even see more than 2-3 miles down 285 South.

My girlfriend lives in Valdosta and she has walked out to see her car covered in ash, not to mention all the smoke in the area.

its the end of the world as we know it

Actually, it's not. It's just smoke being blown through from the wildfires in South Georgia. Later, QD.

I woke up at 6 this morning thinking there was a fire in my apt. At 9AM downtown was so hazy you couldn't clearly see the tops of a lot of the tall buildings. Nasty.
