im only 18yrs old so im not too old in this "import scene" i was wondering what you older folks think the difference back then to now is when it comes to car tuning? how did ppl "modify" their cars, what was cool to do? what kind of cars where used the most to modify. you know all that good stuff.

if you have pictures of your old whips post them up :goodjob:

Do a search. There are plenty of threads with "back in the day" cars. Later, QD.

i'll post up....ive seen the "scene" change in many ways, as im sure some of the older folks have, going from body kits to jdm....ive done it all, i just dont have any pictures of my car w/ the body kit, it was only on a few weeks, had a small mishap and had the body shop put all the factory stuff back on for me

this is the oldest picture of my civic that i have, this was taken in december of 2000, i got the car in september of 2000 completley 100% stock from a local school teacher

http://www.maconracers.org/images/oldcivic2.JPG

i absolutley hated those rims, i got talked into buying them by a local shop, paid $1200 new w/ tires and lugnuts....but i always seemed to get compliments on them at redlights and such

as the scene changed, my tastes changed, i went the jdm route and i would like to say i was one of the first in my area to do the black on black thing.

this is also round about the time that i really got into the performance side of imports, ive always been a mustang guy growing up, but obviously couldnt swing something like that while in college, so i ended up doing a junked together turbo kit on the civic...using dsm stuff, t25, smic, etc...it was fun, not fast by no means, but at the time there were only a handful of swapped civics and as long as they were stock swaps i could easily keep up with them...the only work i didnt do on the car itself was the i/c piping/exhaust

this is the car probably 2 weeks or so before selling it

http://www.maconracers.org/images/civicd16.JPG

after that i pretty much got away from imports and ive been chasing "the car" ever since...ive been through an awd tsi talon, a cl, got into trucks for a while, went back to riding bikes, finally could afford a cobra, had it right at a year and got bored, and now im driving a suv (FREE PLUG, ITS FOR SALE IN THE CLASSIFIEDS)

i dont think i will necessarily go the speed route again, id like to give a good try at autox stuff, so im thinking a s2k or a nicely setup stang is in the works...of course i always have the c5 z06 in the back of my head though

wow dude you're such a fucking hard ass. i personally do not care about your worthless opinion/input, all i did was ask a simple question. if its a re-post my bad i was just wondering what all the changes between then and now are...take that dildo out of your ass. i didnt know importatlanta was being infested with 2yr olds. grow up

and no i'm not "ballin with daddys money" FYI last time i saw my real dad was when i was 6yrs old. its called getting your ass out of bed every morning to go to school then right after school go to work till about 11ish then come home study/do homework/do projects...everyday i started doing that shit when i was a sophomore in highschool. why? cuz i knew i wouldnt have daddy to buy me shit when i wanted a nice car/bike. sure my parents helped me some but they should me what responsablities where and that they're not always gunna be there to hold my hand.

thank you MR. org for answer my question/posting a pic of your ride.

Then why are you writing this whiney little response? All I did was claimed that I would say something mean, and waited to see how you would respond. Of course, your insecurity took over and put you in the exact position that I wanted you.

all i did was ask a simple question.
and you asked it just like you look... very homosexually

take that dildo out of your ass.

I've been trying to give it back to your mom, but she stopped picking up my phone calls after I gave her AIDs.

Where the hell have you been?

WOW!! Taking care of your high school work, and holding a crappy part-time job is alot of responsibility! Where should I mail this cookie to?

i started doing that shit when i was a sophomore in highschool.

A whole 2 years?! Good 4 you! You just might be the next president :lmao:

Car stats:

You paid for these cars and bike without any help from your parents with a part time job? Come on dude I know retarted people that would't believe that shit. Just admit your parents took a huge life insurance policy out on you and bought you 2 ways to kill yourself. You could't even pay the insurance alone on those vehicles with a high school education you dumbass.

he said his parents helped him quite blatently in one of his previous posts
nothing wrong with being rewarded for doing a good job by his parents.

i doubt you would turn it down

this is assuming what he says is true with the long work hours on top of school

Didn't see that because this post he made it sound like he did it all on his own.

I think there's nothing wrong with him getting a start on building his credit up. I commend him on working hard for what he wants. It atleast shows that he plenty of passion to work hard for what he wants, no matter how long those 2 vehicles will own him. I have to give him props.

Back onto his original topic, My first car was a light blue '81 Monte Carlo on 16" Cragars with the floor shifter. That thing was piss slow, but I was happy to claim it as my own. I ended up moving to Colorado, so I sold the car. The guy I sold it to totalled it after owning it for 3 months. That made me sad. I bought 4 Subaru's after that and was totally hooked. Moved back to Ga and couldn't find parts, so it's been Mazda's ever since.

:umno:

like i said my parents did help me. i did buy the integra with my own money(which i sold not too long ago), the navigator was givin to me by my grandpa that NEVER drove it. the subie i worked for to help my parents pay for it. the rolla i bought and fixed on my own (up for sale/trade right now). the ninja my parents gave to me for my grades in school and shit. i really think that there is nothing wrong with rewarding your only son after 12 long years of school because he had good grades and wasnt a slacker.

youd be suprized what you can do/buy after saving for a couple years with just a part time job with the help of your parents. oh and credit does help you out alot too..well if you can make the payments and what not

i really dont get why im getting flamed about my life for? i made a thread asking what you guys thought on the import scene back in the day and now...not what you thought about my life. if its really that big of a deal disregard this thread then and continue on with your lifes.

as for Phsyco. dude get a life. and those mom jokes are getting pretty old not too mention gay. but whatever man hate all you want
