Does anybody know what a lag switch is?

Some dumb ass kid and his father walk into my work asking if I know what the difference between a router and a modem is. After spending 5 minutes explaining, I ask him what exactly he is planning to do. Then he can't explain it, so he tells his son to explain. His son tells me about some BS on the internet he found about making a "lag switch" by splicing some ethernet wires. After his son gets done mouthing off, I ask him, "so you're a cheater huh?" He tells me, "I just want to get back at my friends for messing with me." I look at both of them in disbelief and tell them, "Sorry, I can't help you out here." The dad was going to spend $80+ to help his son cheat. :no: So basically, it's chumps like this kid that made me stop playing online games like Halo 2 and Socom 2. All they know how to do is cheat and piss people off with their girly emo voices. I should've slapped both of them silly for asking such a dumbass question.

On another note, who here is a little underwhelmed by Halo 3?

yea, it delays the internet connection or slows down the connection to give the player the ability to skip around and/or make it easier to get kills.

He can just download the socom 2 lag switch onto his computer and it will create lag through the router. I use to be a ref :D

its does the same thing as pulling your cord,when u switch it on it looks like yur running in place,then u speed by and kill everyone,so yes cheating

halo 3 is still in beta stages. it has a long way to go before its done. it seems very promising imo. the graphics, audio, small glitches can all be upped by shipment, thats not a problem. Weapon balancing and placement on the map are what will make h3 multiplayer key.
