Hi there. I've posted my car in other boards, but figured I'd post it here to:
1. To spark ideas for others
2. To get my investments worth of attention.
Before I post up the pix, want to say thanks to Andy Vang for being the pioneer on this build and helping me build my car, as well as Andy Reyes for helping me source parts and building this car. I in no way plan to take full credit of this build. It was done because of the friendship they have shown.
I started thinking about this build after I saw Andy's Celica and got to drive it. A clean example of a swap, and extreme ease of driving. I know many people will frown on this because of it's "mutt" nature, but from my perspective, it all made sense. A classic bodystyle that I admired, and screaming modern motor that didn't need any modification. Why should I not do this was a harder question to answer. Can you say 240hp at the flywheel with 6 gears to bang? ;)
Anyhow, pictures speak louder than words, so here we go.
Purchased the car in this condition:

The car was originally green, but somewhere down it's life received a metallic brown paintjob along with a vinyl top. Most of the parts where there, so it was a great base to start off with. The car came with a 22R swap, but never even checked if it ran. The best thing was, though there was some bodywork done on the quarter panel, the car had almost no rust. The only rust was where the batter sat and leaked.

So, out goes the motor and the interior:

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/34/72285186_09e92c47d4.jpg?v=0
Then test fitting the motor. Needs some adjustments here and there on the body to get the entire tranny and motor to fit. Crossmember gets some heavy mods as well. Moved the motor as close as we could to the firewall.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/36/81392262_2f72f2b8f7.jpg?v=0
Now that we knew that eveyrthing fits and works, the body is off to the drag shop to get a 10pt cage welded in. Then pressure washed to get the bodywork done.

Now the bodywork is done. Unfortunately the bodywork was not up to par, but no turning back for now. Gotta get this thing done.

Looking back, it was a tough build. I rushed it in 6 months, because I knew that if I took longer, I'd start to slow down. There were many challenges, but I'm glad I over came them and now able to open my garage and grin. :D
Everytime I jump on this thing, it still makes me say OMFG!
It's a lot of work and a lot of money, but boy is it a fun ride!!!!!!
