Yesterday I was joking with some friends over drinks about the whole situation besides that he was just fucking crazy. I had said that maybe he was some CIA Agent and maybe he was getting set up. Too many victims with importance. Customs agent and a judge? Its like that movie US Marshalls or something. I dunno. But Im watching CNN and see that the escaped hostage is saying something like he did it because "He was a soldier" and had to "get to his people"

I was thinking :
A "He has enough knowledge to disarm a deputy"
B "In enough shape to outrun a cop/travel 8 floors on foot"
C "Smart enough to leave a car in a parking deck"
D "Takes routes around Atlanta where obviously there is no TV so he isnt recognized"
E "Car Jacks enough cars where its next to impossible to figure out which one he is in"
F "Damn, he kills a custom agent, takes his weapon and ID. To get over the border? How does he even get that lucky to bump into a customs agent?"

Damn, thats just crazy to me. And how the hell does he shoot so damn well? With that type of adrenaline rushing busting that few shots from an officers weapon with accuracy? Damn. Makes you think

DISCLAIMER: DONT TAKE SHIT TOO SERIOUSLY! IM NOT SAYING THAT IT WAS OK THAT HE KILLED ALL THESE PEOPLE. I JUST FOUND IT FUNNY THAT MY SCENARIO LAST NIGHT THAT I HAD SAID LIESURELY POPPED UP AGAIN IN MY MIND WHEN HE WAS CLAIMING THAT HE WAS A SOLDIER. CALM DOWN PEOPLE!

Funny i wonder how many peeps are thinking that...I told my girls dad that he probably worked for the CIA. His actions reminded me of the shit you see in movies.

Too many Strategic actions.

You never know.

I mean damn, this isnt what you think about when you are thinking about your average street thug, rapist, whatever. I wonder whats guns are standard carry for Fulton Deputys? How many rounds they carry. Damn, i mean, one gun, multiple casualties, in short enough time for other deputys to not respond and him to flee the scene. Someone like that on the street? Fugidaboudit

just an FYI all police officers have/use diffrent holster as far as how hard is to pull the gun out.

well mr Julio....my holster has a single strap that goes over the bottom end of the slide, and with a simple flick, it can be un buttoned....most that I have seen are designed the same way, you can just flick it with your finger and out comes the gun. they are not designed to keep people from getting the gun, moreso to keep the gun in the holster while in movement and then to be easily disengaged to put gun at ready.

i'm still wondering how they justified letting a violent criminal (a 6' 200lb type violent criminal) go anywhere with only a single female deputy for an escort and only handcuffed in the front?

and frank... he obviously wasn't that cunning, if he were smarter he would have made it a lot further than gwinnett in the time that he was missing. the real question in my mind is will they let him live to try it all over again?

working at grady where i run into fulton county sherrifs day in and day out (as they have to be with prisoners who need health care services), it didn't really surprise me that he was able to overpower one.

i don't know what type of gun they typically carry, or how many rounds... but i guess i'll ask if i remember, lol.

but yes, all of his actions did seem quite coincedental... the fulton county courthouse is directly across the street from the fulton county sherriffs office... and is around the corner from the fulton county jail... and around the corner from the state capitol building... there are tons of cops in the downtown area- on foot, in cars, on bikes, plainclothes... and he was simply on foot and got away?!

either dude was strategically on point, or the atlanta pd and fulton county's sherrifs are/were that scatterbrained...

It is being reported that the female deputy didn't have a retention holster, she had a simple 1 stage holster. It is like the guys here are mentioning. 1 strap over the slide of the gun, usually held in by a button. A retention holster has atleast 3 stages to defeat before the gun will release.

There is something kinda funky about this guy though.

local cbs news (may have been abc news) showed the difference between a stage 1 holster, and a stage 3 holster... the difference was huge!

My holster just pulls, no strap. Its one of those hard plastic ones that lock into place but you gotta kinda angle it to get it out. Big difference in a stage 1 and stage 3 though. But if your in a do or die situation, it could be the difference between life and death though...

Fulton County Sheriff's deputies weapon holds 15 rounds. They carry 2 extra clips so if he took all the ammo from both officers he would have a total 6 clips and 120 rounds of ammo. Most of the Fulton County Sheriffs deputies I see have very worm belts and straps as well as old uniforms. Some of the straps look like you could rip them without even unsnapping them.

What I find funny is he carjacks a car and drops it off on the floor below. The first thing the police "should" do in that situation is clear the area. Every level of that deck should have been cleared but clearly not finding the car until 10pm on the floor below shows that was never done.

I would like to know why the deputy who was guarding him put her weapon within reach of him. There should of been enough distance between the two so she would have had time to draw her weapon. Bad police training is probably to blame. If he was being held by a street cop this would not have happened. Sheriff's deputies have different training and I think after this ordeal that will change.

I have a good buddy that is a Cobb Co. Sherriff. He told me that a BUNCH of procedures were violated, atleast from the point of view of how Cobb Co does things. I believe it.

I also read this morning how they are now questioning why there were no sherriffs monitoring the surveillance monitors that show activity in each courtroom. Also why they didn't lock the courthouse down when it happened.

What really baffles me, and I give them some slack due to heat of the moment, is HOW they didn't sweep the entire parking deck when they thought he was in an Accord? It turns out that gave the guy a head start because they were looking for the wrong car the whole time. It was 1 level down for God's sake.

an attorney was on the news and said that when she got out of the elevator that the deputies dragged her back inside while nichols was running down or out the courthouse. she mentioned that there was eight deputies in the elevator with her. i'm sitting there and wondering why in the hell is there 8 deputies in the elevator when they can be out there doing somthing. they were just standing in there listening to the radio. talking about to protect an serve. this is just my opinion. those deputies should have been out there doing something.

Damn. Im watching the news on 2 right now. Its going into the story about his case. Damn. Hung jury, 8 to 4 in his favor for the first trial. He got another girl pregnant, break up, both him and the rape accuser gets new partners. Possible the girl threatened rape out of jealousy? Ive seen it happen before. Im thinking this guy just snapped. Facing life in jail for something he possibly didnt do? Guy loses faith in the system [especially since its said in this thread he used to be a cop]? Im thinking he may be going for an insanity plea to avoid the death sentence. LOL, better him snapping instead of Kobe!

You're doing it again Frank. There's a saying that fits this well. You're trying to find the cat's 5 tails. If you dig long enough, you can always string along enough "maybe's" to make up a conspiracy theory out of any situation. That's life.

Just like life is also about facts. There were facts that were not admitted into the first trial that were into the second. Didn't read that too? This is one of the reasons Mr. Nichols has been quoted, in many different places, as telling the prosecutor DURING the second trial that she was "doing a much better job". Facts are that he tied up that ex for 3 days against her will. Facts that he broke into her place to commit that crime.

Fact is that people want everything to be both ways. Give me my day in court, but if I don't get the outcome my way I go nuts and kill everybody. You either have to accept the system or not. It was his choice to defend himself.

I find it hard to believe that a bunch of jinjangs like us in a public car forum are suddenly gonna un-earth a great conspiracy theory that ATTORNEYS obviously didn't see or they would have brought it to light since the first trial. This is specially true when WE don't even know half as many facts as they all do. They've seen the evidence already. Why didn't they cry conspiracy too? That kind of thing, IMO, would have a far better and easier time to prove than the ole "I didn't do it" defense. Don't you?

Reporters are sensationalizing the story for ratings. They too are looking for the cat's 5 tails sorta speak. All they have to find is one shred of anything that remotely shows anything and suddenly they'll have 100 people like you buying into it.

Bottomline? If he wasn't guilty before, he is now. End of story. What else needs to be analyzed besides how not to let it happen again?

Damn, its just thoughts thrown around! Nothing serious in this thread, calm down killer. Im not raggin on the person who said he was an alien! Yea, he can be guilty on these new charges, Im not disagreeing at all with you. But from talking with my lawyer today an insanity plea would be the most likely, and he has a better chance of dying in jail from old age from a life sentence instead of the death penalty.

he has a better chance of dying in jail from old age from a life sentence instead of the death penalty.

To be honest, that's part of the issue that I have with people like him. There is really no excuse or justification from any angle that would even remotely warrant what he did. Therefore, WHY in the world should tax payers maintain him for the rest of HIS life? Give him an appeal, if he loses, execute the death warrant. Why is it OK to pay Thousands of dollars to maintain someone that took 4 lives in cold blood, yet you or I go and apply for unemployment and we may get denied? Something wrong with that pic. Something wrong with my grandmother working her entire life as a teacher, saving up a good bit of money for her retirement, paying taxes all her life, being a productive member of society, and then SHE has to pay $90/prescription for high blood pressure when criminals and lazy people get the same exact medicine thru medicaid for FREE and my grandmother is told she doesn't qualify because she saved too much money. HUH?????

This is why I don't have any sympathy for moochers and leeches of society. Criminals fall right into that category when they go in and out in and out like a hotel. Criminals that take other people's lives and then live off of me and my grandmother's hard earned money the rest of their lives are moochers just the same IMO.
